Ace Dragon Wheel Rise Gen (エースドラゴン・ホイール・ライズ・幻, Ēsu Doragon Hoīru Raizu Gen) is a Stamina Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It was released in Japan on October 24th, 2020 for 1188円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 22.

Gatinko Chip - Dragon

Dragon 2[1] (or simply Dragon) is a right-spin Gatinko Chip that features the side profile of the Gatinko Chip's namesake: a dragon and its claws. Dragon 2 has a standard weight for Gatinko Chips, and high Burst Resistance. Dragon 2 features three hard locks that give Dragon 2 high Burst Resistance, even when a Dash Driver is not used. When paired with the Goku Layer Weight, Dragon 2 is an ideal Gatinko Chip to use in right-spin Combinations.

Hasbro's Pro Series Dragon is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Dragon 2, but manufactured with weaker materials.

Layer Weight - Gen

Gen, unlike other Layer Weights, is a small rubber piece, with one side featuring a triangular protrusion that serves as a Burst Stopper. In theory, it is meant to make a combination using this Layer Weight nearly unburstable. However, there is one huge downside to Gen: The combination using it loses a substantial amount of weight. Since this weight is lost from the Layer, this makes the increase in Burst Resistance less notable, as heavy Forge Discs will still skip teeth more on lighter Layers. Furthermore, this loss of weight decreases Stamina, Attack, and Defense potential in any sort of combination. The only practical use of Gen is to make Dread semi-functional, as without Gen, Dread is even more burst prone.

Layer Base - Ace

There are two variations of Ace. The first variation debuted in the Ace Dragon Sting Charge Zan Starter, and is the standard for all releases of Ace, except for the Random Booster Vol. 22 Ace Dragon Wheel Rise Gen release. This second variation features a Burst Lock (バーストロック, Bāsuto Rokku), which are protrusions that obstruct the Forge Disc and hinder Bursting.

Hasbro's Pro Series Ace is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Ace, but manufactured with weaker materials.

Forge Disc - Wheel

A Stamina Type Disc with a heavy weight and a shape with its center of gravity on its circumference to maximize centrifugal force.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Wheel is a symmetrical, circular Forge Disc and is one of the heaviest Discs, with an ideal weight distribution for all Combinations. It has four gaps intended to increase Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) and consequently its Stamina potential. The circular perimeter of the design also increases Life-After-Death (LAD). The round design of Wheel leads to the highest Stamina and Life-After-Death of any Forge Disc, outclassing the likes of Outer and Core Disc/Disc Frame combinations. Its heavy weight also grants it high Attack and Defense potential.

Performance Tip - Rise

DriverRise
Main article: Performance Tip - Rise

Rise features a sharp tip surrounded by a downward facing plate that is not free spinning. In theory the plate is meant to make contact with the stadium floor when the Beyblade is struck, forcing it back upright, acting as brakes to prevent a Knock-Out. In practice however, the vertical movement prevents the plate from Stabilizing a Combination on the shallow curvature of the stadium and because the plate does not spin freely, it causes the Beyblade to lose stamina instead of recovering which worsens Stamina.

However, the relatively smooth rim of the plate and its non-free spin nature makes greater Stamina loss and the small diameter of the tip does little to stop the Beyblade. While the sharp tip would imply high Stamina, the aforementioned plate nullifies any Stamina benefit and instead the plate is placed so low that it creates a high scrape risk.

Trivia

  • Unlike the previous Beyblades with the Ace Layer Base, this Beyblade's Ace Layer Base has a slightly different mold, now adding small tabs in the launcher holes.
