Burst (バースト, Bāsuto) is a BU Blade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-205 Burst Ultimate VS Set on November 12th, 2022.
Description
Takara Tomy's Burst is a dual-spin Balance Type BU Blade with two small blades and two large blades. As the successor to the Astral Blade, Burst is similar in shape, albeit larger and with the addition of metal and rubber blades, as well as a Burst Lock. The Burst Lock is a small protrusion, which obstructs the Disc from moving, preventing Bursting. Like Astral, the spin direction of Burst can be changed by flipping it.
Unlike Astral, which had two small rubber blades, the rubber of Burst is located on the two large blades instead. Furthermore, these two large blades feature metal, creating more inertia and delivering stronger hits than Astral, which had the rubber and metal in different locations. The rubber is intended to increase Spin Equalization capabilities against Opposite-Spin opponents, and is more prominent than the rubber contact points of Astral. Despite its decent Smash Attack and Spin Equalization ability, its Attack power is much lower than other options such as Guilty, and its Spin Equalization is lower than that of Astral and World.
Overall
Burst has decent Opposite-Spin and Same-Spin Stamina performance, and a small amount of Attack capability. As such, Burst can be used in an all-rounder Stamina combination in a 3on3 or 5G deck.
As such, Burst is not a must-have, but a welcome addition for the WBO's Burst format.
Burst is not legal in the WBO's Burst GT format.
Burst is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited format.
Burst is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic format.
