Gatling (ガトリング, Gatoringu) is a BU Blade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-199 Booster, Gatling Dragon Karma Charge Metal'-10, on June 25th, 2022.
Description
Takara Tomy's Gatling is a right-spin Attack Type BU Blade that features a round shape with two movable blades, akin to its predecessors Imperial and Tempest. As part of the Dynamite Battle Layer System, Gatling is compatible with any right-spin or dual-spin DB Core. As a BU Blade, Gatling features a gimmick: Gatling can switch from its "Slashing Hit Mode" to its "Consecutive Hit Mode" when struck during battle. In "Slashing Hit Mode", the dragon jaws are shut, and Gatling has a circular shape. When the "Consecutive Hit Mode" is activated, the dragon jaws open, and the movable blades retract inside Gatling, creating an elliptical shape. Despite its Attack Type classification, Gatling has a poor shape for right-spin Attack combinations, and only finds niche usage in Stamina combinations in Opposite-Spin matchups.
Overall
While Gatling has some uses in Stamina combinations, it is outclassed heavily by other Blades.
