Bakuten Shoot Beyblade Rising (爆転ＳＨＯＯＴ ベイブレードＲＩＳＩＮＧ, Bakuten Shūto Beiburēdo Raijingu) is the manga sequel to the original Beyblade manga, written and illustrated by Takao Aoki. Publication began in 2016 under CoroCoro Aniki comics.
Due to the popularity of the original "Bakuten Shoot Beyblade" manga series, series creator Takao Aoki began works to revive the story, continuing the adventures of Takao Kinomiya and the BBA Team after chapter 43 of the original story with the events of SP 02 being retconned.
This is the first installment from the "Bakuten Shoot Beyblade" franchise since 2004, after the series finale and all related content being discontinued due to the decline in interest with "Beyblade" as a franchise and "Bakuten Shoot Beyblade" itself.
The manga features characters from the original series using Burst type Beyblades but is unconnected to the Beyblade Burst storyline.
Due to the overwhelming positive reception and success of the first installment of the new Rising manga, further chapters were produced.
The first 8 volumes were released in a collective volume, with a second said to be released in the latter half of 2018.
A full has passed since the conclusion of Great Beyblade Cup, and Ray Kon has just secured his win in the final match of the Summer Carnival Tournament in Japan. While congratulating him on his tournament win, Kenny, Max Tate, Mariah and Ray all encounter Tyson Granger, who hasn't been seen for a year. At his family's dojo, Tyson recounts his last match with Kai the year prior. Following his loss, Kai left the country to attend boarding school in England. Tyson, on the other hand, went into hiding to perfect a new special move. Having completed his training, Tyson challenges Ray to a Beybattle and emerges victorious. Confident in his improved skills, Tyson waits in anticipation of his next encounter with Kai, unaware that, at that very moment, his rival was returning to country to aid his ailing grandfather, Voltaire Hiwatari.
