The curtain rises on the theater of the abyss!
— Bel Daizora, Beyblade Burst QuadDrive - Episode 01

Bel Daizora, known as Bell Daikokuten (大黒天ベル, Daikokuten Beru) in Japan, is the main protagonist of the anime/manga series, Beyblade Burst QuadDrive. He is known as the Dark Prince, or the Demon King (魔王, Maō) in Japan, and fought with his Beyblade, Destruction Belfyre Nexus Venture-2, until it was destroyed by Rashad Goodman. After Belfyre's destruction, he evolved it into Devastate Belfyre Almight-2.

In Beyblade Burst QuadStrike, he reclaims his role as the main protagonist to face off with returning legends, now fighting alongside his new Divine Belfyre Squadron-Q Guard-Q+Adventure-3. Following a loss to Aiger Akabane for his World Champion title, Bel evolves Divine Belfyre into Destined Belfyre D Gear-Q Gyro-Q+VS Gear-2'.

Appearance

Bel is a short boy with a multi-color hair: a red Mohawk and dark-purple hair with magenta rhombus-shaped highlights, pale skin, turquoise eyes, and black eyeliner. His attire consists of a gray shirt with a right long sleeve that sports a black cuff, the left sleeve is rolled up to the shoulder and a magenta cat-style skull, a black Dracula-style cape with a red interior, a brown belt with a gold buckle, dark-gray pants with a black strap on each leg, azure and yellow striped long socks, white boots with crimson soles, an azure band around his left bicep, and a fingerless black-cuffed maroon glove on his left hand.

When Bel resonates with his Beyblade, the magenta rhombus highlights in his hair glow.

Personality

Despite the title he gives himself, Bel isn't really sinister in any way. Rather, he's simply an eccentric and somewhat socially awkward boy with a taste for theatrics. That said, he's proud and mischievous and knows how to portray an intimidating persona that, coupled with his impressive natural skills and thirst for victory, help to make him live up to his self-appointed title.

Prior to/during the beginning of the season, Bel is shown to be more intimidating whenever he encounters a new blader coming in to challenge him. He is very proud of himself and can already tell victory even before the start of a battle.

Bel also likes to prank others. He pranked Bashara and his younger sister Hanna in Beyblade Burst QuadDrive - Episode 01. He also pranked Bashara, Hanna, and Ranzo in episode 03. He pranked Valt and Hanna in episode 04, and he, Jinemon, Valt, and Ranzo pranked Bashara, Hanna, and the others in episode 18 by acting as zombies.

Bel also causes trouble sometimes like when he and Ranzo filled up the whole house of the Suiro family with bubbles due to fighting over cleaning the dishes and when he messed up the whole training grounds of El Astro while trying to copy Free's training regimen.

Bel is also excited sometimes and wants to see new things quickly, like when he snuck in El Astro just to see the new Orbit Stadium. Due to this, Valt Aoi always thinks that Bel is really hilarious.

Although Bel likes to prank others, he usually gets caught up by his grandfather's pranks, like when Jinemon pranked Bel, Bashara, and Ranzo when they want to see the Orbit Stadium.

Bel hates losing and always strives to win. Although he lost some of his battles, he declares every defeat as a ‘preparation for victory’. He can also be upset when he lost multiple times, mostly seen when he is walking down in Spain in dismay after being defeated by Bashara in episode 8.

Bel greatly respects strong Bladers, mostly those whom he know, like Valt, Free, Shu, etc, still with a drive to defeat them. They mostly became his inspirations in upgrading Belfyre even further.

Bel also sports his mischievous side mostly when someone enters the Phantom's Gate, or when he feels like it. More of his pranks are shown during the Japanese ending credits.

Bel has a tendency to do whatever he pleases, even disobeying the rules. This is shown during episode 11, where he ran off to challenge Free despite the fact that the latter is about to battle Rashad, to which he decided to cancel. He even tried to do the same after being amazed by Lui's Guilty Longinus, but Lui declined his challenge.

Like Valt, Aiger, Dante, Hyuga and Hikaru, Bel also has a strong resonance with his Beyblade, notably by talking to his Bey and sensing Belfyre through telepathy.

Biography

Background

Beyblade Burst QuadDrive

Bel made his debut to the series as a supposed ghost haunting the fabled Phantom's Gate. Bashara and Hanna Suiro decided to visit the mansion to meet the ghost, only to find out that Bel was an ordinary boy who had been attracting people to Phantom's Gate to battle with his unique Quad Bey, Destruction Belfyre. He was soon challenged by Bashara and his Lightning Bey, Demise Spellscraper, who was easily defeated by Bel. After streaming the battle with Bashara all across the world, Bel caught the attention of Lui Shirosagi, in which he also defeated.

After the battle with Lui, Ranzo Kiyama soon arrived from Brazil to challenge Bel, resulting in his Glide Roktavor's destruction. Bel and his grandfather, Jinemon, soon allowed Ranzo to use the workshop to create his own Quad Bey, Cyclone Roktavor. After several battles between Bel and Ranzo, Valt Aoi arrived to challenge Bel, who gave the latter more inspiration towards Blading. After learning about Free De La Hoya, Bel set out to Spain and met Free and BC Sol's new rising Blader, Rashad Goodman.

After being defeated by Free, Bel created the F Gear for his Belfyre. With Bel's upgrade and second face-off with Free, he inspired Valt to evolve his Brave Valtryek into Salvage Valtryek and after seeing Bel continuing to evolve, Bel, along with Rashad, also encouraged Bashara evolve, with him replacing Spellscraper with Roar Balkesh.

After losing to Valt and Bashara and witnessing the former face-off with Rashad and his very own Salvage Valtryek, Bel created the V Gear and his own Power Custom BeyLauncher LR and set off on the Great Aerial Tour, where he got the inspiration from Shu and Lui to complete Belfyre's Perfect Form by creating the S and L Gears. Annoyed over losing the role of the Great Aerial Tour's MVP to Rashad, the two battled to decide the Tour's true MVP, resulting in Rashad shattering Destruction Belfyre. Not only did Rashad destroy Belfyre, but he also gained the attention of Bashara, who went with him and Ilya Mao back to Spain and Rashad is now being claimed as the High Prince.

After weeks of depression from Belfyre's destruction, Jinemon soon encouraged Bel to get back on his feet and evolve his shattered Destruction Belfyre into Devastate Belfyre, in which he returned to Spain to get his rematch with Rashad and his brand-new Glory Regnar, only to be entered into a 3-on-3 team battle to see if he was worthy to face-off with Rashad and Regnar, with the battle resulting in his team's defeat and Salvage Valtryek's destruction from damage that was produced from a practice battle between Bel and Valt. After discovering that Salvage Valtryek's destruction was similar to Destruction Belfyre's destruction, Bel allowed Valt to use Phantom's Gate's workshop, where he created the Valtryek to top all Valtryeks, Ultimate Valtryek. Unable to defeat Valt's new Ultimate Valtryek, Bel decided to improve his launching power and created the Full Custom BeyLauncher LR, but was still defeated.

With the creation of Rashad's new team, Nexus, and the attention that he had gained since becoming the High Prince, Rashad re-encountered Phelix Payne, who held a grudge against him for mocking his Blading style and vowed to take everything from Rashad by defeating all of his allies and rivals, including Bel. After defeating Bashara and Ilya, Phelix arrived at Phantom's Gate to defeat Bel and succeeded, creating a new rivalry between the two. After Phelix defeated Valt, Bel reforged his broken Gears from Destruction Belfyre and followed Phelix to his uncle's cabin where the two created a new friendship. Following the trip, Bel and the group would travel to the Central Arena after discovering Phelix's upcoming match with Rashad. With Bel showing up to support Phelix and cheer him on and lightening up his mood, it would gain the attention of Rashad and once again spark up their rivalry.

Following the adventures with Phelix, Bel would return home to Phantom's Gate. After seeing the change in Rashad, Bashara would also happen to leave Nexus and return to Phantom's Gate, where Bel would be waiting for his arrival. The two fought and Bel would finally break his losing streak to Bashara. Assuming Bel wouldn't care, Bashara would begin to leave, but Bel stops him and allows him to stay with the group like he did before his departure. Behind the scenes, Valt would request Wakiya to set up the Tri-Blader Tournament, a 3-way battle tournament between Bel, Rashad, and himself, with all three Bladers getting the opportunity to have someone to support them. Bel accepts this challenge and sets out to attend the tournament. During the group's flight, they would discuss who would be Bel's support for the tournament and how Bashara would be the best choice, but to their surprise, Bel would chose Ranzo as his support.

The Tri-Blader Tournament finally begins and is kicked off with a battle royale between Bel, Valt, and Rashad. As requested by Ranzo, Bel has Belfyre take a hit from Valtryek to turn most of the battle into a fight between the other two opponents, where at the end, Bel would quickly take the victory by performing Devastate Dive on Valtryek and Regnar. While Valt accepted Bel's victory, Rashad would immediately become more angered by it. Now gaining the lead in the tournament, Bel finally gets the opportunity to face off with Rashad in a one-on-one battle, in which the latter has no choice but to accept the challenge. Following the match, Bel takes a trip to the Central Arena's Observation Deck during his free time, where he encounters Rashad training at the obstacle course. With their battle coming up, Bel uninvitedly joins Rashad in his training, in which they continue to rival each other for hours.

The time comes for the second battle of the tournament and both Bel and Rashad give it their all and burst each other's Beys, but unfortunately for Bel, Belfyre is burst first, giving Rashad the victory. Bel becomes annoyed by his defeat, but after Valt defeats Rashad in the third battle, he allows the two to face off in the semifinal round of the tournament, which the victor will get to face him in the final round. Both Bladers prepare for the battle and give it their all in training. The semifinal match begins and Rashad takes the first point after knocking out Belfyre. After the first battle, Rashad finally starts lightening up and truly begins to accept Bel as a Blader and rival. In the second battle, both Bladers clash with the full force of their resonance. In the end, Belfyre bursts Regnar and Bel finally defeats Rashad, resulting in the two finally reforging their friendship. After watching the battle, Valt gets hyped up and decides for the final battle, he wanted to have another battle royale with Bel and Rashad, in which the two agree.

Official Description

Beyblade Burst QuadDrive

Bel Daizora is known as the Dark Prince and Phantom’s Gate is his kingdom. Just like any pampered prince, Bel hates when things don’t go his way. That’s why he works extra hard to make sure he always wins. Armed with a rich imagination, Bel invented the Quad System all on his own. But it’s not all bursts and Beys; Bel often focuses his “creativity” on pranks and booby-traps for anyone unfortunate enough to stumble upon his lair.

Beyblade Burst QuadStrike

When someone nicknames themselves the “Dark Prince,” you know they’ve got to have both the confidence and the ego to back it up. And with Bel Daizora’s willingness to pull out all the stops to bring his ideas to life, perhaps he’s earned the name. This Dark Prince lives by his own code of justice, pulling pranks left and right. But given that they fail most of the time, who could really hold that against him?

Relationships

Jinemon Daizora

Jinemon is Bel's grandfather. Both enjoy pranking each other and Bel enjoys Jinemon's food, too.

Belfyre

Belfyre is the personification of Bel's bey. He is there for Bel when he's thinking of ways to evolve Belfyre or when he's sad.

Valt Aoi

Bashara Suiro

Bel first met Bashara when he got inside Phantom's Gate, where Bel resides. In the first episode, Bel himself challenged Bashara in a battle. Without hesitation, Bashara accepted and introduced his Bey, Demise Spellscraper. Bashara scorned out about Belfyre being all lightweight when suddenly it was able to endure the attack. He was astounded with Belfyre's endurance, and with Belfyre delivering the final strike, the match ended with a Burst Finish, with Bashara losing. This prompted him to always visit Bel. Even though later in the series he defects to Rashad’s team, he doesn’t harbour any resentment for Bel.

Ranzo Kiyama

Lui Shirosagi

At first, Lui did not see Bel as a worthy opponent, openly calling him a disappointment after he lost to Ilya's Ifritor. However was impressed by Bel copying Luinor's power with the L Gear but was disappointed when he could not use it full power. Lui eventually became impressed with Bel after helping him unlocking Belfyre's true strength and expresses joy for able to fight him at his fullest.

In the QuadDrive Manga, Jinemon took Bel and his friends to Ogre Island so that Bel could battle Lui. Bel eventually secured Lui's respect after defeating him with Lui gave him the L Gear to complete Perfect Belial.

Hanna Suiro

Free De La Hoya

Shu Kurenai

Rashad Goodman

Initially, the 2 were on neutral terms, but over time Bel’s personality started to rub Rashad the wrong way and vice versa, which culminated in Destruction Belfyre’s destruction at the end of the Dynamite Battle Tour. However, episode 36 showed the 2 of them getting along, implying that they don’t purely hate each other.
