This article is about the Hasbro version. For the Takara Tomy version, see Blade - Astral (Takara Tomy).

Astral is a Blade released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the QuadDrive Starter Pack, Astral Spryzen S7 Over-Q Quattro-Q+Quattro I-0.

Description

Hasbro's Astral is a dual-spin Balance Type QD Blade based on Takara Tomy's Astral Blade. Astral has a shape that is similar to its Takara Tomy counterpart's left-spin mode. Unlike Takara Tomy's Astral, Hasbro's Astral does not flip to switch between spin directions, instead using the same side (based on the Takara Tomy version's left-spin mode). Furthermore, Astral is a single plastic piece and lacks the rubber and metal blades of the Takara Tomy version, instead painting parts of the Blade to resemble the Takara Tomy version's rubber. Astral is also hollow on its underside, leading to a lightweight Layer with no particular advantages and a bad shape for either spin direction. Like other QD Blades, Astral can switch between Apex and Core Modes by swapping the position of the Gravity Ring from the top of the Blade (Apex) to below it (Core).

Overall

Compared to Layers released by Takara Tomy in the Dynamite Battle Layer System, QuadDrive Layers like Astral are too light to compete in the metagame.

As such, Astral is not recommended for the Burst Format.

Due to its poor shape and weight, Astral is heavily outclassed by other Layers in the format.

As such, Astral is not recommended for the Burst Limited Format.
