Devastate is a Blade released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the Interstellar Drop Battle Set.
Description
Hasbro's Devastate is a right-spin Attack Type Blade with three large blades acting as the main contact points. In between each of the three large blades are two smaller blades. Its general shape is similar to that of its Takara Tomy counterpart, Dangerous. Compared to Dangerous, the bottom of Devastate is flattened, and lacks the slots required to attach the F Gear. Furthermore, the two smaller blades of Devastate are shorter and stubbier, and lack the hard rubber of Dangerous. Like other Blades, Devastate can switch between Apex and Core Modes by swapping the position of the Gravity Ring from the top of the Blade (Apex) to below it (Core).
Unlike Dangerous, Devastate cannot use a metal Armor or L Gear, severely reducing weight. Furthermore, the light weight of Blades means QuadDrive System Layers such as Devastate are even more prone to Bursts. Consequently, Devastate is too light to be used competitively, and is outclassed by other Layers.
