This article is about the Hasbro version. For the Takara Tomy version, see Blade - Savior.

Salvage is a Blade released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the QuadDrive Starter Pack, Salvage Valtryek V7 Squadron-Q Shot-Q+Shot-7.

Description

Hasbro's Salvage is a right-spin Attack Type QD Blade based on Takara Tomy's Savior Blade. Salvage has a three-sided shape that is similar to its Takara Tomy counterpart, with three upward slanted wings as the primary points of contact, akin to its predecessors in the Valtryek line of Layers. The main difference between Hasbro's Salvage and Takara Tomy's Savior is the lack of rubber. The original Takara Tomy Savior Blade featured an "Awakening" gimmick, where the rubber pieces would eventually wear down and break off, increasing Attack potential. However, Salvage instead has these "blades" made of plastic rather than rubber, and are thus meant to be permanently affixed. Despite the three wings being shorter and rounded at the ends, the three-sided design creates moderate Attack potential. Like other QD Blades, Salvage can switch between Apex and Core Modes by swapping the position of the Gravity Ring from the top of the Blade (Apex) to below it (Core).

Overall

Compared to Layers released by Takara Tomy in the Dynamite Battle Layer System, QuadDrive Layers like Salvage are too light to compete in the metagame.

As such, Salvage is not recommended for the Burst Format.

As such, Salvage is not a must have but is instead a welcome addition for the Burst GT Format.

Due to its aggressive shape and high recoil, Salvage finds use in right-spin Attack Combinations in the format. However, a potential weakness is the high Burst risk created by the recoil; it is recommended to pair Salvage with Drive Chips that have high Burst Resistance, such as Perseus P7.

As such, Salvage is not a must have but is instead a welcome addition for the Burst Limited Format.

Salvage is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic Format.
