ScorpioSpear (スコーピオスピア, SukōpioSupia) is a Blade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Unique Line system. It debuted in Japan with the release of the UX-14 Starter, ScorpioSpear 0-70Z, on April 26th, 2025.

Description

When it Xtreme Dashes, it transforms from a circular 6-bladed design with high deflection performance into a 3-bladed design with high attack performance.
— Official Description

ScorpioSpear is a Balance Type Blade with 3 main metal contact points and 3 plastic sub-layer contact points. The Gear Chip features a scorpion.

As part of the Unique Line, ScorpioSpear has resin Launcher Hooks instead of metal ones, which increase Outward Weight Distribution (OWD). In addition, it features an Unique Line gimmick: when a ScorpioSpear combo performs a Xtreme Dash, the rotation of the combo's Bit will turn the mechanism of ScorpioSpear, rotating a movable sub-layer. This sub-layer sits between the gaps of the metal contact points at the start of the battle, which is intended to create a rounder 6-sided Defense-type shape. The intention of the gimmick is to change into a more aggressive 3-sided Attack-type shape after an Xtreme Dash to deliver a powerful hit.

At the time of its release, ScorpioSpear was the heaviest Blade at an average weight of 39.6 grams. Its weight surpassed that of PhoenixWing and ImpactDrake, which were the only two previous Blades to exceed 39 grams. Its shape and heavy weight allowed ScorpioSpear to immediately become a staple competitive Blade, reaching a high adoption rate and disrupting the metagame, the last Blade doing so being SilverWolf, released 6 months prior.

Rulings

The transformation mechanism must be reset after each battle. It is not physically possible to launch ScorpioSpear in its transformed Attack-type shape.

Overall

Due to its heavy weight and large, round contact points, ScorpioSpear can be used in Stamina and Balance Type combos, particularly those focused on destabilization of the opponent. It is most commonly used with Stamina Bits such as Ball (B) and Free Ball (FB), and Hexa (H), as well as various Attack Bits such as Rush (R) and Point (P) for Balance-type Anti-Attack combos.
