Burst Spriggan Spread' Fusion'-8 (バーストスプリガン・スプレッドダッシュ・フュージョンダッシュ-8, Bāsuto Supurigan Supureddo Dasshu Fyūjon Dasshu-8) is a Balance Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series. It was released in Japan on November 12th, 2022 for 4150円 as apart of the Burst Ultimate VS Set.
In the toyline, it is the successor to Astral Spriggan Over Quattro-0.
DB Core - Spriggan
- Main article: DB Core - Spriggan 2
Takara Tomy's Spriggan 2 (or simply Spriggan) is a dual-spin DB Core that features a side profile of the DB Core's namesake, a spriggan, a creature from Cornish folklore. It is the second of two Spriggan DB Cores, and has average Burst Resistance. As a dual-spin DB Core, its spin direction can be switched between right-spin and left-spin with an included tool.
Spriggan 2 is compatible with the "BU Lock" gimmick. When paired with the two BU Lock compatible DB Discs, Xanthus and Moon, raised protrusions on the Disc tabs lock into two grooves on Spriggan 2. This results in increased Burst Resistance and a sturdy combination, preventing the Disc from shaking during battle.
BU Blade - Burst
- Main article: BU Blade - Burst
Takara Tomy's Burst is a dual-spin Balance Type BU Blade with two small blades and two large blades. As the successor to the Astral Blade, Burst is similar in shape, albeit larger and with the addition of metal and rubber blades, as well as a Burst Lock. The Burst Lock is a small protrusion, which obstructs the Disc from moving, preventing Bursting. Like Astral, the spin direction of Burst can be changed by flipping it.
Unlike Astral, which had two small rubber blades, the rubber of Burst is located on the two large blades instead. Furthermore, these two large blades feature metal, creating more inertia and delivering stronger hits than Astral, which had the rubber and metal in different locations. The rubber is intended to increase Spin Equalization capabilities against Opposite-Spin opponents, and is more prominent than the rubber contact points of Astral. Despite its decent Smash Attack and Spin Equalization ability, its Attack power is much lower than other options such as Guilty, and its Spin Equalization is lower than that of Astral and World.
Armor - 8
- Main article: Armor - 8
Takara Tomy's 8 is an Armor with its weight focused at eight points, with a symmetrical design. Despite its shape, 8 has a poor weight, being the lightest Armor, and poor weight distribution, similar to 6. While its performance is acceptable, 8 is heavily outclassed in Stamina and weight by other Armors such as 0, 2, and 10.
Forge Disc - Spread'
- Main article: Forge Disc - Spread'
Takara Tomy's Spread' is a DB Disc successor to the Spread Disc. It features a circular design nearly identical to its predecessor, and is one of the heaviest Discs, with a good weight distribution for any combination.
Spread''s circular design creates high Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) and Stamina potential. Due to its smooth circular perimeter, Over also has high Life-After-Death (LAD).
Performance Tip - Fusion'
- Main article: Performance Tip - Fusion'
Fusion', like its predecessor Fusion, features a plastic flat tip with a small diameter and a small protrusion in the center and sits at the standard height. The center of the Driver also contains an embossed logo featuring a stylized letter "F" for easy differentiation from other Drivers.
When launched parallel to the stadium, Fusion' will spin on the protrusion, creating a stable, Stamina-conserving spin. When knocked off balance by the opponent or launched at an angle, the flat tip will contact the stadium floor and create a movement pattern with the same speed as Accel before returning to balancing on the protrusion.
However the aggressive movement is unreliable as the protrusion can slow a Fusion' Combination down in the center of the stadium or stop the movement entirely. Furthermore, the small size of the protrusion means that when a Fusion' Combination slows down and lists, contact will be made with the flat base, severely reducing Stamina.
Unlike its predecessor, Fusion' features a much thicker spring in its locking mechanism, increasing Fusion''s Burst Resistance.
