Cho-Z Valkyrie 1'Reach Reboot' (超Zヴァルキリー・ワンダッシュリーチ・リブートダッシュ, Chō Z Varukirī Wan Dasshu Rīchi Ribūto Dasshu) is an Attack Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Cho-Z Layer System. It was released as a wbba. Store Exclusive Booster in Japan on March 30th, 2019 for 1296円 as a part of a special collaboration with popular Japanese YouTuber Hajime Syacho.
Energy Layer - Cho-Z Valkyrie
- Main article: Energy Layer - Cho-Z Valkyrie
Cho-Z Valkyrie is an Attack Type Energy Layer, with the center featuring a feathered, armored face facing forward, akin to its predecessor Winning Valkyrie, meant to represent the Layer's namesake; Odin's handmaidens of Norse mythology, albeit changed to match the anime's rendition; an armored knight. Like its predecessors, Cho-Z Valkyrie features three large wings as the primary points of contact, granting the Layer high Knock-Out and Burst Attack potential. As part of the Cho-Z Layer System, Cho-Z Valkyrie features metal in its design; in this case, concentrated behind each wing and in the center. However, Cho-Z Valkyrie features less metal than most other Cho-Z Layers and most of its weight comes from its size. Cho-Z Valkyrie also features a gimmick; the Layer features an anti-Bursting mechanism called the "Cho-Z Awakening System".
At high spin velocity, the centrifugal force activates a bistable mechanism, revealing red sub-wings called the "Cho-Z Wings" and in turn extending a "Burst Stopper" tab located in the left groove meant to fit the prongs of the Disc. This Burst Stopper then obstructs the Disc from moving during impact, preventing the loss of the last click and preventing the Cho-Z Valkyrie Combination from Bursting. Due to the bistable mechanism, the wings and tab do not retract when spin speeds are low and must be manually pushed in after every match, the mechanism also allows the gimmick to work as intended.
Because of Cho-Z Valkyrie's triangular design, only the upper-left wing will move the tab with the other two being purely aesthetic. However, due to the bistable mechanism, Cho-Z Valkyrie requires rather extreme spin speeds for the gimmick to activate which may be difficult for some Bladers.
The Layer's size and the inclusion of metal makes Cho-Z Valkyrie heavier than most God Layers and improves Attack Potential by increasing the weight of the Layer, granting higher inertia that increases both Knock-Out and Burst Attack as well as increasing the Layer's Burst Resistance as the high inertia resists teeth skipping, a property that compliments the tall teeth of Cho-Z Valkyrie. Due to these factors and the shape of the wings, Cho-Z Valkyrie performs well in Attack Combinations. However, the wings of Cho-Z Valkyrie show greater Attack potential when the "Cho-Z Wings" are not active as they cover up a more acute point of contact and when the "Cho-Z Wings" are active, the new point of contact is much more obtuse, reducing recoil. As such, Cho-Z Valkyrie almost requires the use of the three pointed Zenith Disc to concentrate weight at the points of contact to be effective with the gimmick activated.
Unlike previous Cho-Z Layers and like other Layers with the "Cho-Z" prefix, Cho-Z Valkyrie is incompatible with a Level Chip.
Hasbro's Pro Series Cho-Z Valtryek is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Cho-Z Valkyrie, but manufactured with weaker materials.
Forge Disc - 1'
- Main article: Forge Disc - 1'
1', like other odd numbered Core Discs, is asymmetrical and elliptical in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. One side features two small sword-tip like protrusions and the other side features the same protrusions along with a single, larger protrusion of the same shape. 1''s gimmick, like its predecessor 1, is that it is imbalanced, it achieves this by having the side with the larger protrusion being more filled in with metal than the other, akin to Quarter. This weight distribution has two primary uses: The first is to increase the Burst Attack of Attack Combinations by generating momentum like a flail which is further enhanced by the heavy weight of 1'. The second is to make a Combination using an imbalanced Layer such as Buster Xcalibur more properly balanced by aligning the heavier side opposite the the heavier side of the Layer which increases Stamina and Burst Resistance.
However, compared to 1, 1' is only slightly imbalanced as both sides are mostly filled in with metal, unlike in 1 where one side was hollowed out. While this makes 1' heavier, it also significantly reduces the synergy with an Xcalibur Layer and the Disc is still lighter than more commonly used Discs such as 0.
Disc Frame - Reach
- Main article: Disc Frame - Reach
Reach features a round design with six large, clockwise blades, three of which are situated higher and three of which are situated lower on the Frame. This aggressive shape is designed to increase Burst Attack during Disc-to-Layer contact in Right-Spin Combinations. However, due to most Burst Performance Tips being of the same or very similar heights, such contact is rare and the direction of the blades reduces recoil when used on Left-Spin Combinations. While the round shape of the Frame may imply high Life-After-Death, the lower position of three of the blades creates a perimeter too rough to aid in Life-After-Death in Defense and Stamina Combinations compared to Cross and Glaive. However, Reach is one of the heavier Frames in the metagame, which grants high Attack potential when paired with Core Discs such as 0 or 7.
Performance Tip - Reboot'
- Main article: Performance Tip - Reboot'
Reboot' is a plastic flat tipped Performance Tip that features an automatic tip change gimmick, with a round tip like a smaller Accel and an eight pointed star tip like an upsized Jaggy.
Early in battle, the Centrifugal Force of the Beyblade's spin will force two spring loaded tabs outward which will in turn force the round tip out. As the tip's diameter is smaller than Blow's, the resulting movement pattern is only mildly aggressive, having trouble reaching the Tornado Ridge. While a small diameter would imply ease of control, the height of the tip means that a Reboot'-based Combination can become easily Destabilized like Blow in this state.
Later in battle, the drop in Centrifugal Force will allow the tabs to retract along with the round tip, creating contact with the wider, Jaggy style tip. In theory this tip change is meant to create a last minute burst of Attack power, but in practice the low spin velocity will make poor hits and reduce Stamina when it is most important.
While poor in Attack potential, Reboot' has potential in Tornado Staller Combinations as the tip change will keep a Beyblade away from the center for longer periods of time.
Like other Dash Performance Tips, Reboot' features a stronger spring lock, increasing the Performance Tip's Burst Resistance.
