Ciel Kaminari, known as Shieru Kaminari (神成シエル, Kaminari Shieru) in Japan, is a character in the anime/manga series, Beyblade X. He fights with his Beyblade, Obsidian Shell 4-60D.

He would adopt the alter ego Blader Z or Kamen Z (仮面 Z(ゼット), Kamen Zetto; Mask Z) in Japan, after being recruited by Khrome to replace Jaxon Cross as Team Pendragon's new member. After Pendragon's victory against Persona, Ciel would later be given ShelterDrake 7-80GP from Packun, now vowing to surpass Khrome.

Appearance[]

Ciel is an average-sized boy with green eyes with yellow lightning bolts, and spiky orange hair. With two bangs shaped liked lightning bolts, he wears a lime green headband and a gray shirt with elbow sleeves with an orange strip running down from the shoulder, over his shirt he wears a shoulder pack. He wears black trouser with pattern reminiscent of a turtle shell and an orange stripe on the side, and gray sneakers with yellow laces with gray and yellow soles.

When he was Blader Z, he wears a gray mask with a horn sticking out of the right side, a black lens with a gear pattern on the lens, and an orange "Z" at the center of the lens. The mask also has a voice filter and a cellphone connection to Khrome.

Beyblade X[]

Manga[]

An exceptional Amateur Blader with an undefeated 502 match win streak. Although he did not climb The X via conventional means, his skill is on par with Pro Bladers from the top floors. Ciel originally struggled with the decision of whether to go professional or not. However, after being scouted by Khrome Ryugu for Pendragon, he decided to join the team as a Pro Blader. Khrome told Ciel that he had the potential to become one of the strongest Bladers; as Ciel respected Khrome deeply, he made this his new goal, aiming to someday surpass even Khrome.[1]

Special Moves[]

  • Xtreme Dash Dragonic Break: A Beyblade performs an Xtreme Dash Dragonic Break by riding the "X-Celerator Rail" ("Xtreme Line") of the Xtreme Stadium twice. The Beyblade performs its first lap and jumps into the air, landing back onto the other side of the Xtreme Line and completing a second lap. Both high launch power and precision is required.
    • Ciel's variant of this technique is "Xtreme Dash Dragonic Break Z".
  • Xtra Shoot Reject Barrier: ShelterDrake parries an attack from the opponent using its smoother parts of the Blade.
  • Xtreme Dash: The gears on the Beyblade's "Bit" interact with the gears on the "X-Celerator Rail" ("Xtreme Line") of the Xtreme Stadium, increasing the Beyblade's speed.
    • ShelterDrake's Xtreme Dash uses the suffix "Solid Break". ShelterDrake uses its sharper parts of the Blade to perform a uppercut, resulting in a Burst Finish.
  • Air Ride Xtreme Dash: A Beyblade performs Air Ride Xtreme Dash by climbing up the elevated "X-Celerator Rail" ("Xtreme Line") of the Aero Stadium and slamming the opponent from above with a more powerful attack than a Xtreme Dash. Much more stamina is needed to overcome the elevation.

Trivia[]

  • The cover of chapter 15 depicts Ciel using a Winder Launcher. This is likely a mistake, as Ciel does not use a Winder Launcher in any other instance.
    • However, in the anime, Ciel can be seen using a Winder Launcher as Blader Z in a match against Jaxon in Episode 42.
  • His English dub name means "Sky" in French.
  • Ciel is the third Beyblade X character to own a Beyblade with a motif that pays homage to Bakuten Shoot Beyblade, as his Obsidian Shell pays homage to Max Tate's Draciel and his ShelterDrake pays homage to both Max Tate's Draciel and Tyson Granger's Dragoon. The first and second characters were Khrome Ryugu and Sigrid Nana-iro.
    • Ciel is currently the only character to own Beyblades that pay homage to different Bakuten Shoot Beyblade motifs.
  • As of the sixth volume of the Beyblade X manga series, Ciel's Launch Power is 8800.
