Dragon (ドラゴン, Doragon) is a DB Core released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-199 Booster, Gatling Dragon Karma Charge Metal'-10, on June 25th, 2022.

Description

The motif is of the legendary phantom beast, Dragon. A right-spin DB Core with three Locks and a small built-in spring and bound abilities.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Dragon is a right-spin DB Core that features the head and claws of a dragon, akin to its predecessors in the Dragon line.

Like the Valkyrie 1 DB Core, Dragon features a gimmick: when struck by an opponent, a built-in spring mechanism causes the DB Core to rebound, which allows a Dragon combination to perform Bound Attacks. While in theory this improves Attack potential, in practice this gimmick is to the detriment of an Attack combination, as the rebound, combined with strong impacts, can cause the combination to Burst. It is thus better suited in Defense and Stamina combinations, where the gimmick increases Defense.

While Dragon is functionally similar to Valkyrie 1, it has stronger Burst Resistance and a more compressed spring. The more compressed spring of Dragon means it has a shorter rebound distance than Valkyrie 1, while retaining the defensive properties of the gimmick.

Overall

The Dragon DB Core has both above average Burst Resistance and high Defense and Stamina potential due to its gimmick. It is consequently recommended for use in right-spin Defense and Stamina combinations.

As such, Dragon is a must-have for the WBO's Burst format.

Dragon is not legal in the WBO's Burst GT format.

Dragon is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited format.

Dragon is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic format.
