This article is about the Takara Tomy version. For the Hasbro version, see Strike Chip - Knight K8.

Knight (ナイト, Naito) is a DB Core released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-202 Random Booster Vol. 30 on September 10th, 2022.

Description

The motif is of the wind knight, Knight. A right-spin DB Core with a Lock that moves up and down to absorb an attack's impact.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Knight is a right-spin DB Core that features the helmet of a knight, akin to its predecessor, the Air Knight Cho-Z Layer. Knight has below average Burst Resistance and Stamina performance compared to other right-spin DB Cores.

Knight features a gimmick: when struck by an opponent, a vertically positioned built-in spring mechanism causes the DB Core to tilt sideways, which increases Knockout (KO) Defense by cushioning the impact and pushing back the opponent. This spring-loaded "Bound Defense", which is reminiscent of the Deep Chaos God Layer, makes Knight excellent in Defense combinations. Despite this, due to its low Burst Resistance and Stamina, Knight is outclassed by other right-spin DB Cores that have greater Burst Resistance and Stamina.

Knight is compatible with the "BU Lock" gimmick. When paired with the two BU Lock compatible DB Discs, Xanthus and Moon, raised protrusions on the Disc tabs lock into two grooves on Knight. This results in increased Burst Resistance and a sturdy combination, preventing the Disc from shaking during battle.

Overall

The Knight DB Core has good Defense potential, but also below average Burst Resistance and average Stamina. It is consequently recommended for use in right-spin Defense combinations.

As such, Knight is not a must-have but a welcome addition for the WBO's Burst format.

Knight is not legal in the WBO's Burst GT format.

Knight is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited format.

Knight is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic format.
