This article is about the second Spriggan DB Core. For the first Spriggan DB Core, see DB Core - Spriggan 1. For the Hasbro version, see Strike Chip - Spryzen S8.

Spriggan (スプリガン, Supurigan) is a DB Core released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System and the Burst Ultimate Layer Series. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-205 Burst Ultimate VS Set on November 12th, 2022.

Description

The motif is of the treasure guarding giant, Spriggan. A dual-spin DB Core that has a design based on previous Spriggan Beyblades and can switch between spin directions using a dedicated tool.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Spriggan 2 (or simply Spriggan) is a dual-spin DB Core that features a side profile of the DB Core's namesake, a spriggan, a creature from Cornish folklore. It is the second of two Spriggan DB Cores, and has average Burst Resistance. As a dual-spin DB Core, its spin direction can be switched between right-spin and left-spin with an included tool.

Spriggan 2 is compatible with the "BU Lock" gimmick. When paired with the two BU Lock compatible DB Discs, Xanthus and Moon, raised protrusions on the Disc tabs lock into two grooves on Spriggan 2. This results in increased Burst Resistance and a sturdy combination, preventing the Disc from shaking during battle.

Overall

Spriggan 2 has high Stamina in both spin directions; in left-spin it is outclassed in Stamina by other DB Cores such as Achilles, but in right-spin it has top-tier Stamina performance comparable to DB Cores such as Dragon. Spriggan 2 is thus recommended for right-spin Stamina combinations.

As such, Spriggan 2 is a must-have for the WBO's Burst format.

Spriggan 2 is not legal in the WBO's Burst GT format.

Spriggan 2 is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited format.

Spriggan 2 is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic format.
