Dark Deathscyther Vertical Gyro (ダークデスサイザー・バーチカル・ジャイロ, Dāku Desusaizā Bāchikaru Jairo) is a Stamina Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dual Layer System. It was released in Japan on October 22nd, 2016 for 972円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 4 Quad Quetzalcoatl.J.P.

Energy Layer - Dark Deathscyther[]

Main article: Energy Layer - Dark Deathscyther
The motif is of the grim reaper, Deathscyther. A right-spin Attack Type Dual Layer in which the upper and lower blades, which are roughly divided into two halves, cut through the Beyblade's opponent.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Dark Deathscyther, like its predecessor Deathscyther, is an Attack Type Layer that features four smooth sided, compact blades. Two of the blades are made of colored plastic with a sloped design that allow for small amounts of Upper Attack and Destabilization, the other two are made of transparent plastic and are not sloped, meant for Burst Attack.

Despite being advertised as an Attack Type Layer, Dark Deathscyther does not perform well in Attack Combinations but excels in both Stamina and Defense Combinations due to its incredibly round design. Because the blades are so compact, the protrusions are incredibly shallow and create little recoil, that along with the Layer's strong teeth makes it very resistant to Bursts and Knock-Outs. In comparison to its predecessor, Dark Deathscyther's Flywheel Effect is not as great as Deathscyther, but it is still comparable and unlike Deathscyther, this Layer's teeth will not wear down with use.

However, Dark Deathscyther has a history of breaking. There is one mold variation in an attempt to fix this issue where the plastic was made thicker and reinforced with bars. However this did not solve the breakage problem, so it is recommended to find a second generation Layer and to be prepared to replace it.

Forge Disc - Vertical[]

Main article: Forge Disc - Vertical

Vertical is shaped somewhat like an upside-down funnel, similar to its predecessor Armed. However, unlike Armed, which has a more gradual and rounded slope, Vertical’s slope begins at a sharper angle and continues downward in a straight line. Vertical also sports a jagged, line-like design, which forms the outline for several holes on the disc’s exterior and eight protrusions on its underside. Despite resembling Armed in terms of shape, Vertical does not offer the same resistance to Bursting that Armed is notable for, while also possessing less Stamina than top-tier Forge Discs such as Spread and Gravity.

Performance Tip - Gyro[]

Main article: Performance Tip - Gyro

Gyro features a small free-spinning, low angled cone tip and is at the height of a standard Performance Tip. In prime condition, Gyro causes the Beyblade to have a calm movement pattern while the low angle of the tip resists Destabilization and subsequent scrape risks. The free-spinning nature of Gyro allows it to outclass its predecessor Survive in Stamina potential.
