Darkness At The End Of The Tunnel is the 32nd episode in the first season of Beyblade.

Episode summary

It's a dark and stormy night, Kenny is having trouble sleeping as keeps thinking of the BladeBreakers encounter with that creepy blader (Cenotaph). He remembers how they got attacked out of no where and how that blader tried to steal Dragoon. Not to mention his monster bit-beast, Kenny thinks he won't be able to go to sleep and wonders who could possibly sleep after meeting that guy. Then he looks over at Tyson who is asleep on the floor.

The next day the BladeBreakers are getting ready to leave for France and are going to take a train there. They get on the train, and discover that they seem to have a whole cart to themselves. However, as the train leaves, two people working there observe that the train wasn't supposed to leave at this time or from that platform and they go to inform the boss. The BladeBreakers are watching a movie on the train which involves a vampire and a werewolf, Tyson and Max comment how bad the effects in the movie are. Kenny asks them to turn off the movie, and Dizzi asks if he is scared, but Kenny denies it. Tyson and Max begin to tease Kenny, Kai seems to be somewhat annoyed at this as the train enters a tunnel.

Meanwhile, Ray has gone to explore the train on his own, and he realizes that there is no one else on board. He finds a silver dollar, and flips a coin to decide if he should go back and watch the movie with the others, or tell them what is happening, it comes up tails. Ray goes back to the others and inform them that they are the only ones on board. The others wonder what is going on, and Ray states that he intends to find out, however, the train suddenly stops. Kai tells Ray to go check if the driver is okay while he checks the navigator room. However, they discover that there is no driver or navigator.

The BladeBreakers exit the train and wonder why it stopped inside a tunnel. Soon they encounter the Dark Bladers, who want to challenge the BladeBreakers to a battle. At first Tyson refuses to battle, but Kenny is hold hostage by Cenotaph. The BladeBreakers agree to one battle, and the Dark Bladers choose Kai as their challenger. However, Kai refuses to fight them, so Tyson, Max and Ray step forward to fight and the Dark Bladers reveal that they intend to steal their bit-beasts if they lose. The battle begins between Sanguinex of the Dark Bladers and Tyson of the BladeBreakers. Tyson loses sight of Sanguinex's blade, and Max points out it's location, it is hanging onto the wall like a vampire bat.

Soon the two blades begin to slam into eachother, and neither of them seems to be getting an advantage. Lupinex then launches his blade, the two ganging up on Tyson until Max joins the battle. Tyson and Max summon their bit-beasts, Dragoon and Draciel, however, the Dark Bladers wanted them to do this and they summon their own bit-beasts, a vampire and a werewolf like the ones in the movie. The vampire tries to drain Dragoon's strength while Draciel fights the werewolf. Kenny meanwhile tries to figure out the monster bit-beasts weakness. Eventually he realizes how they can be defeated, and reminds Tyson and Max about the movie.

Tyson remembers that the vampire in the movie was held back by a cross, so he and Max launch their blades into the air in the shape of a cross weakening the vampire before knocking it out. Lupinex states that that trick won't work on his bit-beast, and Kenny asks Max if he remembers how to defeat the werewolf. Max remembers that the werewolf in the movie was defeated with silver, but Max doesn't have any silver. Luckily Ray still has the silver dollar he found earlier, and puts it on his beyblade and joins the battle. This gives Driger a silver glow which easily allows him to knock out the werewolf, and the BladeBreakers win the battle. Not wanting to give up yet, Cenotaph and Zomb prepare to fight, luckily, help arrives for the BladeBreakers, forcing the Dark Bladers to flee.

Later they discuss the events of the day, and Kenny realizes that even though the Dark Bladers are creepy to look at, they are still just bladers. However, they aren't sure if they really shouldn't be afraid of them or not. They do however agree that they should try to keep their bit-beasts away from them. Kai states that he is not going to let them get Dranzer, but Kenny tells Kai that if he abandons the team like he did earlier, they might see him as a weak link and target him, and that the only way they can defeat the Dark Bladers is to stick together as a team. Tyson believes that as long as they work together, nothing can beat the BladeBreakers.
