Vortex (ボルテックス, Borutekkusu) is a Disc Frame released by Takara Tomy and Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the God Layer System and SwitchStrike System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-73 Starter God Valkyrie 6Vortex Reboot on March 18th, 2017. It later debuted in western countries with the release of the Star Storm Battle Set.

Description

Vortex is a wide and triangular Disc Frame with wave like details on each side. While too small to come into contact with the opponent's Layer, Vortex's wide shape makes it one of the heavier Disc Frames in the game, which grants high Attack potential when paired with Core Discs such as 7 and 00.

Use in Attack Combinations

Vortex can be put to use in the Attack Combination Legend Spriggan/Sieg Xcalibur 2/4/5/7/8 Vortex Xtreme. The weight of Vortex bolsters the weight of 2/4/5/7/8 which adds to the high Attack potential of Legend Spriggan/Sieg Xcalibur and Xtreme granting high amounts of Burst Attack.

Overall

Core Discs and Disc Frames such as Vortex are too light to be competitive in the current metagame. Forge Discs released in the Dynamite Battle Layer System heavily outclass the usage of Core Disc and Disc Frame combinations.

As such, Vortex is recommended for collection purposes only.

Vortex is outclassed by other heavier Disc Frames for Attack Combinations, such as Bump and Meteor. In addition, with the release of Axe, which is essentially an improved version of Vortex, there is no reason to use Vortex.

As such, Vortex is recommended for collection purposes only.

Vortex is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic Format.

As such, Vortex is recommended for collection purposes only.
