The Dojo in Tyson's house first appears in the first season of Beyblade and indeed in the first episode, and is the home of Tyson and his grandfather. It is built according to the traditional Japanese style and therefore consists almost exclusively of wood, paper and reed or brick for the roof. The advantage of this design is that there is sufficient ventilation in summer. The disadvantage of the materials used is that the house burns easily and is poorly insulated against the cold. For these reasons, one finds the so-called minka only rarely in the Japanese localities. The house has a walled large garden and a pond. Inside, the rooms are formed by sliding doors, which are also used as an entrance door. With these sliding doors, the rooms can be designed freely and flexibly. These sliding doors (Shoji) consist of a wooden frame covered with translucent paper. There is virtually no furniture in the rooms, all things are stored either in closets or under the floor, so that creates a free multi-functional space. The tables are built very low in a traditional Japanese house, because you kneel in front of it or put your feet in the hollow in which the table is sunk.

In addition to the living area, the house also has its own dojo area (martial arts practice hall). The Dōjō can be seen on the right side of the picture. It is a training room for various Japanese martial arts such as. B. Karate, Judo, Kendo, Jujitsu or Aikido. Tyson's grandfather is an avid sword and Kendo martial arts fighter. That's why he practices every day in the dojo and also has his own little fighting force. Furthermore, there is a sword where the bit-beast Dragoon was sealed in earlier.

Trivia[]

  • A recurring gag in the series is that part of the dojo winds up being destroyed because of Beyblading.
