Dragoon Storm 5Meteor Loop (ドラグーンストーム・ファイブメテオ・ループ, Doragūn Sutōmu Faibu Meteo Rūpu) is a Defense Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System. It was released in Japan on October 21st, 2017 for 972円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 8 Shelter Regulus.5S.Tw.

Energy Layer - Dragoon Storm[]

Main article: Energy Layer - Dragoon Storm (Takara Tomy)

Takara Tomy's Dragoon Storm is a Burst System adaptation of the Reverse Dragon Attack Ring and Dragoon Bit Chip from the Original Series' Spin Gear System. As such it features an overall square/diamond shape with four dragon heads that act as the main contact points and an image of the Bit Beast Dragoon in the center. The only differences between the Energy Layer and the original Attack Ring is that the dragon heads are more compact making the Layer somewhat smaller overall and the "Bit Chip" is non-removable.

Dragoon Storm features teeth comparable to those on Victory Valkyrie, while such teeth would normally allow a Layer to withstand its own recoil, the pointed shape of each of the heads are so recoil heavy and the Layer is so light in weight due to being very thin and hollow that the teeth are still unable to compensate in almost any circumstance.

Forge Disc - 5[]

Main article: Forge Disc - 5

5, like other odd numbered Core Discs, is asymmetrical and elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. One side features two protrusions and the other features three, all molded in the shape of "5"s and the center features two small holes on either side. While the asymmetrical design may imply imbalance, the smaller size of two of the protrusions on the three lobed side ensures that the Disc is balanced. 5's overall shape resembles a reversed 4 and acts almost identically with the same high Stamina potential, Knock-Out Resistance and Life-After-Death when paired with Disc Frames such as Glaive or Cross. While 7 has greater Stamina, 5 is still comparable.

Disc Frame - Meteor[]

Main article: Disc Frame - Meteor

Meteor is a pentagonal Disc Frame with numerous protrusions to give it a rough perimeter. While too small to come into contact with the opponent's Layer, Meteor is one of the thickest Disc Frames available, which grants high Attack potential when paired with Core Discs such as 7.

Performance Tip - Loop[]

Main article: Performance Tip - Loop

Loop features a ball shaped tip that sits at a standard height with four tabs, akin to Defense, but differs by having two free rotating rollers draping down on either side of the Tip in place of the defensive ring.

The diameter and placement of the four tabs are identical to Defense, thus the tabs act as brakes against Knock-Outs by striking against the stadium floor at the cost of Stamina and the diameter of the ball prevents aggressive movement meaning that Loop will mostly stay in the center of the stadium during battle.

In theory the rollers would bring a Beyblade using Loop back upright if knocked off balance with little Stamina loss due to the free rotating nature of the wheels, while this action does happen, it only works early in the battle when spin velocity is high. Later in the battle, when spin velocity drops, the lower placement of Loop's rollers compared to Defense's ring causes scraping, instead of preserving spin and aiding Life-After-Death in this state, the low placement instead acts as brakes that stop the rotation, completely nullifying any Life-After-Death.
