Acid Anubis (アシッドアヌビス, Ashiddo Anubisu) is an Energy Layer released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dual Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-71 Booster, Acid Anubis Yell Orbit, on February 18th, 2017.

Description

The motif is of the guardian deity of the underworld, Anubis. A right-spin Defense Type Dual Layer that can disperse attacks with its lower blade made up of fine protrusions and has a small, circular shape that makes it difficult for the opponent to shake its axis.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Acid Anubis is a round and slim Energy Layer designed for Defense. The center of the Layer depicts a jackal like its namesake; the Egyptian god of the afterlife, Anubis.

Consisting of a colored, six segmented bottom layer and a clear, six pointed top layer, every segment of the bottom layer has four small protrusions and each gap between the segments is filled in with one of the points of the top layer.

Due to the round design of the Layer, Acid Anubis has little recoil and decent Defensive properties and its weight distribution gives the Layer a strong Flywheel Effect and Stamina. Furthermore, the small bumps on Acid Anubis allows for some degree of Destabilization akin to Dark Deathscyther. However, Acid Anubis' Burst Resistance lags behind Wyvern and Neptune due to the average teeth and lack of deflectional blades.

Overall

Takara Tomy's Acid Anubis was a great Layer for Stamina Combinations, capable of Out-Spinning commonly used Layers such as Odin, Neptune and Wyvern with its ability to Destabilize the opponent and strong Flywheel Effect. However, with its weak Burst Resistance and the release of the much heavier SwitchStrike/God Layers such as Guardian Kerbeus and Deep Chaos, Acid Anubis has become outclassed.

As such, Takara Tomy's Acid Anubis is recommended for collection purposes only.
