Dead Hades (デッドハデス, Deddo Hadesu) is an Energy Layer released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Cho-Z Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-125 Random Booster Vol. 12 Dead Hades.11T.Z' on October 20th, 2018.
Description
Takara Tomy's Dead Hades is a Balance Type Energy Layer that features a helmeted, fanged face facing forward, surrounded by two large sloped blades in the shape of scythes. As part of the Cho-Z Layer System, Dead Hades features metal on its design; in this case, concentrated on the scythes.
The inclusion of metal improves Attack potential by increasing the weight of the Layer, granting high inertia that increases both Knock-Out and Burst Attack as well as increasing the Layer's Burst Resistance; its high inertia resists lock skipping, a property that compensates for the fine locks. The Layer's Attack potential is further improved as the metal is placed near the point of impact. Due to these factors and the shape of the blades, Dead Hades performs well in Attack Combinations.
Like many other Cho-Z Layers, Dead Hades is unbalanced, though not to the same degree as others, which increases Burst risk and drains Stamina. However, these issues can be solved with the use of a Level Chip that fits underneath the Layer.
Overall
Takara Tomy's Dead Hades features a moderately recoil heavy design, heavy weight, and mediocre teeth. With the use of a dash driver to compensate for the weak teeth, it can be used effectively for right-spin Attack Combinations. However, with the release of the Gatinko Layer System and onwards, Dead Hades has become too light to remain competitive.
As such, Takara Tomy's Dead Hades is recommended for collection purposes only.
