Flame-X Diomedes D4 is a Hasbro Exclusive Energy Layer released as part of the Burst System as well as the SlingShock System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the SlingShock Single Pack Flame-X Diomedes D4 8 Defense-S.
Description
Flame-X Diomedes D4, as its name implies, is a SlingShock variant of Diomedes D2 that’s reclassified as a Defense Type Energy Layer. However, despite the "Flame-X" prefix and "D4" suffix, its design is unchanged from Diomedes D2, and the only difference between them are their color schemes. Unlike the color scheme of Diomedes D2, Flame-X Diomedes D4’s color scheme consists of a translucent-red bottom-layer, a translucent-orange top-layer, flame-like designs on one of the Layer’s three bow-like protrusions, along with three arrow-like protrusions; two of which have translucent-red cores, and the other one has a silver core. Like most other SlingShock-Exclusive Dual Layers, Flame-X Diomedes D4 features glitter that’s infused into the Layer's translucent-orange plastic, along with the "D" in the center being transparent while the rest is colored green. These details enforce the “Flame-X” motif of the Layer’s prefix, but not for its "D4" suffix. Like Diomedes D2, the sideways armored head in the center of Flame-X Diomedes D4 represents its original namesake; Diomedes, a legendary hero of Greek mythology.
