This article is about the Takara Tomy version. For the Hasbro version, see Energy Layer - Ifritor I2.

Inferno Ifrit (インフェルノイフリート, Inferuno Ifurīto) is an Energy Layer released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dual Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-64 Beyblade Super Custom Set Heavy Ver. on November 12th, 2016.

Description

The motif is of the flame spirit, Ifrit. A right-spin Balance Type Dual Layer that combines the offensive and defensive capabilities of six hits with its upper and lower blades.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Inferno Ifrit is a triangular Energy Layer made for Attack, the perimeter of which features three triangles and three pointed blades creating the primary points of impact, one of the triangles making up the upper jaw and one of the blades of which makes up the lower jaw of the Layer's namesake, the Ifrit, the supernatural creature of fire from Islamic Scripture.

The pointed shape and direction of the blades implies a high recoil design that excels in Burst Attack, while the downward slope of the blades allows for small amounts of Force Smash and Destabilization and the three triangles are pointed downward so they do not cover up the blades. Inferno Ifrit features four teeth, the first of which is short in length and the last three are tall in length, allowing this Layer to withstand its own recoil. However, Inferno Ifrit's blades are in reality, compact which limits the recoil and the Layer suffers a history of breaks and no mold variations have been released to solve that problem. It is recommended to have multiple copies of this Layer and to be prepared to replace it.

Overall

With the release of the SwitchStrike/God Layer System, Takara Tomy's Inferno Ifrit is too light to remain competitive.

As such, Takara Tomy's Inferno Ifrit is recommended for collection purposes only.

Takara Tomy's Inferno Ifrit is too light to compete with other Energy Layers in the format.

As such, Takara Tomy's Inferno Ifrit is recommended for collection purposes only.

Due to this Layer's moderate recoil and Burst Attack, Takara Tomy's Inferno Ifrit is a decent choice for Attack Combinations. While it is outclassed by Valkyrie for Attack Combinations, it does not suffer from the teeth breakage issue of Valkyrie, and thus can be used if mint copies of Valkyrie are unavailable.

As such, Takara Tomy's Inferno Ifrit is not a must have but is instead a welcome addition to a blader's collection.
