Ragnaruk (ラグナルク, Ragunaruku) is an Energy Layer released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-03 Starter Ragnaruk Heavy Survive on July 18th, 2015.

Description

The motif is of a devil that wears the flames of the end, Ragnaruk. A right-spin Stamina Type Layer with a large diameter and a shape that is close to a circle that demonstrates endurance and keeps the Beyblade spinning for a long time.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Ragnaruk is a rugged looking Energy Layer that bears a striking resemblance to Seaborg's Whale Attacker, featuring two flat, blunt protrusions with smaller, pointier trailing edges. Unlike most other Energy Layers that incorporate some sort of slope or relief, Ragnaruk has a nearly-uniform thickness throughout the Layer. The majority of Ragnaruk's weight is packed behind its two primary contact points, which, coupled with the shape of these protrusions, provide the Layer with a considerable amount of Burst Attack. However, these same features also subject Ragnaruk to large amounts of rotational recoil during a collision as well. As Ragnaruk has only three average sized teeth and one small tooth, it is unable to handle its own recoil and tends to Burst quite often, making it practically nonviable in competitive play.

Use in Burst Attack Combinations

Though outclassed by Valkyrie, Ragnaruk can be used in the Burst Attack Combination Ragnaruk Armed Revolve. This combo combines Ragnaruk's moderate Burst Attack with Armed's ability to reduce the chance of the combo Self-Bursting. While inconsistent at best, it can be used to defeat Stationary Combinations with particularly poor Burst Defense such as Deathscyther Heavy Revolve.

Overall

Despite its potential in Attack Combinations, Takara Tomy's Ragnaruk suffers from having poor Burst Resistance, resulting in a number of Self-Bursts when attacking.

As such, Takara Tomy's Ragnaruk is recommended for collection purposes only.
