Turbo Valtryek V3 is an Energy Layer released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the SwitchStrike System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the SwitchStrike Starter Pack, Turbo Valtryek V3 Zenith Evolution.

Description

Hasbro's Turbo Valtryek V3 is an Attack Type Energy Layer, with the center featuring a feathered, armored face facing forward meant to represent the Layer's namesake; Odin's handmaidens of Norse mythology. Like the previous Valtryek Energy Layers, Turbo Valtryek V3 features three wings as its main points of contact. Like other Layers with the "Turbo" prefix, Turbo Valtryek V3 has an anti-Bursting mechanism called "Turbo Awakening".

At high spin velocity, the centrifugal force activates the "Turbo Wings", and consequently the Burst Stopper on the left groove. This Burst Stopper obstructs the Disc from moving, preventing the Beyblade from Bursting. The "Turbo Wings" must be manually pushed back in after battle. Due to the Layer's triangular design, only the upper-left wing will move the Burst Stopper with the other two being purely aesthetic. Unlike its Cho-Z Layer System and Pro Series System counterparts, Cho-Z Valkyrie and Cho-Z Valtryek, the springs of the mechanism are much weaker, and thus activation of the "Turbo Wings" is more common. In addition, the weaker springs make the Burst Stoppers much easier to push back in. As a result, Turbo Valtryek V3 has low Burst Resistance compared to its Cho-Z counterparts, due to its moderate slopes and the aforementioned weaker Burst Stopper. The "Turbo Wings" themselves are also sharper than its Cho-Z counterparts.

Turbo Valtryek V3 also lacks the metal of its Cho-Z counterparts, reducing its weight. Despite this reduction in weight, Turbo Valtryek V3 is still one of the heaviest Hasbro Energy Layers, surpassed only by Turbo Achilles A4 and Turbo Spryzen S4.

The Layer's size and shape of the three wings improves the Attack potential of Turbo Valtryek V3, and show greater potential when the "Turbo Wings" are not activated, as they cover up an acute point of contact; when the "Turbo Wings" are active, the new point of contact is much more obtuse, reducing recoil. Turbo Valtryek V3 works best when paired with three pointed Forge Discs such as Zenith to concentrate weight at the points of contact to be effective. In the WBO's Burst Limited Format, Turbo Valtryek V3 finds some use in Attack Combinations.

Overall

Hasbro's Turbo Valtryek V3 finds some the most use in Right-Spin Attack Combinations in the Limited and Hasbro Formats. However, because Turbo Valtryek V3 recoil is reduced when the gimmick is activated (which is often), combinations using the Layer can become inconsistent in performance.

As such, Hasbro's Turbo Valtryek V3 is not a must have but is instead a welcome addition to a blader's collection.
