Compared to Takara Tomy's Valkyrie, the slopes of Valtryek are weaker than a mint Valkyrie's teeth, with performance comparable to a moderately worn Valkyrie. Due to its weak Burst Resistance, it cannot handle its recoil as well as a mint Valkyrie, which can also further increase its Burst Resistance with Dash Drivers. This is further exacerbated by the low Burst Resistance of Hasbro's rubber Attack Drivers. As such, Valtryek is outclassed by Takara Tomy's Valkyrie, but comparable to other Hasbro Attack Layer options such as Roktavor and Xcalius.</onlyinclude>

Due to its aggressive shape and the angles of the points of contact, Valtryek was one of the best Layers for Attack Combinations, excelling in both Burst and KO Attack. The Takara Tomy release of Valkyrie features four teeth of tall length which allow it to withstand its own recoil, however, like other pre-Xcalibur Layers, the teeth of Valkyrie wear down with use and the Layer must be replaced with heavy use.</onlyinclude>

Use in Attack Combinations
Valkyrie can be put to use in the Attack Combination Valkyrie Heavy/Gravity Xtreme. Valkyrie<nowiki/>'s strong Burst and KO Attack potential is bolstered by Heavy/Gravity's weight and Xtreme's speed while Gravity's greater Outward Weight Distribution increases the speed of Xtreme. Valkyrie<nowiki/>'s unworn teeth are capable of withstanding the increased Burst risk of heavy Discs and high friction Tips.

Hasbro's Valtryek is visually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Valkyrie, however the slopes of Valtryek are weaker than a mint Valkyrie<nowiki/>'s teeth, instead creating a performance akin to a moderately worn Valkyrie. However, with the release of the SwitchStrike/God Layer System, this Layer is too light to remain competitive.

This article is about the Hasbro version. For the Takara Tomy version, see Energy Layer - Valkyrie.

Valtryek is an Energy Layer released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the Valtryek & Unicrest Dual Pack.

Description

Hasbro's Valtryek is a right-spin Attack Type Layer based on Takara Tomy's Valkyrie. It is virtually identical to its Takara Tomy counterpart, featuring the same three-winged design, with each wing sporting a set of two protruding contact points. These consist of a larger contact point and a smaller kite-shaped contact point. The centre of the Layer depicts an armored face, with feathers protruding off of the helmet, and a V-shape between them to represent this Layer's namesake: valkyries, Odin's handmaidens in Norse mythology.

As such, Valtryek is outclassed by Takara Tomy's Valkyrie, but comparable to other Hasbro Attack Layer options such as Roktavor and Xcalius.

Overall

Single Layers such as Hasbro's Valtryek are outclassed in the format by much heavier Dynamite Battle Layers.

As such, Valtryek is not recommended for the WBO's Burst format.

Single Layers such as Hasbro's Valtryek are outclassed in the format by much heavier Gatinko Layers.

As such, Valtryek is not recommended for the WBO's Burst GT format.

Single Layers such as Hasbro's Valtryek are outclassed in the format by heavier Layers.

As such, Valtryek is not recommended for the WBO's Burst Limited format.

Although Hasbro's Valtryek retains the same shape as its Takara Tomy counterpart, it cannot handle its recoil due to its own low Burst Resistance and that of Hasbro's Attack Driver options.

As such, Valtryek is not recommended for the WBO's Burst Classic format.
