While the unchanged design may imply the same high Attack potential that '''Valkyrie '''had, the slopes of '''Valtryek''' are weak; weaker than the strength of a mint-conditioned '''Valkyrie'''<nowiki/>'s teeth<nowiki/>, making it prone to losses by Burst, which is further exacerbated due to its aggressive design being the same as '''Valkyrie'''<nowiki/>'s. Valtryek, known as Valkyrie (ヴァルキリー, Varukirī) in Japan, is an Energy Layer released as part of the Burst System. It debuted in the DX Starter B-01 Valkyrie Wing Accel on July 18th, 2015 and was the first Layer of the Burst System to be released. It later debuted in western countries with the release of the Valtryek & Unicrest Dual Pack.

Description

Valtryek is a triangular Attack Type Energy Layer that features three wings, three small sub-wings in between them. In the center of the Layer is a feathered armored face looking to the left, and a "V" above the face and center, representing the Layer's Japanese namesake; the Valkyrie, Odin's handmaidens of Norse mythology.

For the Takara Tomy release of Valkyrie, it was one of the best Layers for Attack Combinations at the time, excelling in both Burst and KO Attack due to its aggressive shape and the angles of the Layer's wings. Furthermore, the four teeth of Valkyrie are tall in length, which allows it to withstand its own recoil. However, before the release of Xcalibur, like Legend Spriggan and Spriggan Requiem, the teeth of Valkyrie would wear down with use over time. As such, it is best to have multiple copies of this Layer and be prepared to replace it.

Use in Attack Combinations

Valkyrie can be put to use in the Attack Combination Valkyrie Heavy/Gravity Xtreme. Valkyrie's strong Burst and KO Attack potential is bolstered by Heavy/Gravity's weight and Xtreme's speed while Gravity's greater Outward Weight Distribution increases the speed of Xtreme. Valkyrie's unworn teeth are capable of withstanding the increased Burst risk of heavy Discs and high friction Tips.

Overall

Valkyrie, at the time, was one of the best Layers for Attack Combinations and remained as the best Attack Layer until the release of the God Layer System, where it then became outclassed by Sieg Xcalibur and Nightmare Longinus and became too light to remain competitive. Furthermore, with the release of the Cho-Z Layer System, especially with the release of Winning Valkyrie and Buster Xcalibur, Valkyrie has become severely too light to remain competitive.

As such, Valkyrie is recommended for collection purposes only.

Differences in the Hasbro Version

Aside from the center of the Energy Layer being filled in the facilitate its QR Code for the Beyblade Burst App, Hasbro's Valtryek is visually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Valkyrie with the same triangular and high-recoil design.

While the unchanged design may imply the same high Attack potential that Valkyrie had, the slopes of Valtryek are weak; weaker than the strength of a mint-conditioned Valkyrie's teeth, making it prone to losses by Burst, which is further exacerbated due to its aggressive design being the same as Valkyrie's. As such, Valtryek is outclassed by, though still comparable to, Roktavor and Xcalius. However, with the release of SwitchStrike Layers such as Xcalius X3 and Luinor L3, Valtryek is also too light be competitive.

As such, Valtryek is also recommended for collection purposes only.
