'''Wyvron''' has a seven-spiked design which makes it seems best for attack combos, however due to their being a softer plastic protruding on each spike, absorbing the blows received slightly, it is best used defensively, and provides a reliable counter to Attack combos when used in the fitting customisations. Because all currently released Beyblade Burst products are right-spin only, the tips of '''Wyvron'''’s spikes never strike the opposing Beyblade.

What actually happens is that the slopes of '''Wyvron'''’s spikes serve to parry incoming hits, when the opposing energy layer’s spike comes into contact with '''Wyvron''', there are two likely outcomes. The opposing energy layer hits the outside of '''Wyvron'''’s spike, resulting in minimal impact, or the opposing layer hits the empty space between '''Wyvron'''’s spikes, causing the opposing energy layer to be pushed away.

Wyvron, known as Wyvern (ワイバーン, Waibān) in Japan, is a Energy Layer released as part of the Burst System. It debuted with the release of the B-14 Starter Wyvern Armed Massive on September 19th, 2015. It later debuted in western countries with the release of the Single Pack Wyvron Armed Massive.

Description

Wyvron is a circular, seven-bladed Energy Layer. The center of the Energy Layer features the head of a dragon to represent this Layer's Japanese namesake; a two legged, winged dragon, the Wyvern.

While the spiked design may imply that this Energy Layer has a lot of recoil, the direction of the blades means that they would parry the oncoming hits which reduces recoil. When the opponent's Layer comes into contact with Wyvron, there are two likely outcomes. The opposing Energy Layer hits the outside of Wyvron’s blade, resulting in minimal impact, or the opposing layer hits the empty space between Wyvron’s spikes, causing the opposing Energy Layer to be pushed away. This gives this Energy Layer high Defense potential. Most of the weight of this Energy Layer is focused around the perimeter which combined with its circular shape gives it excellent stamina properties as well.

The Takara Tomy release of Wyvern features four teeth of short length, while this may imply poor Burst resistance, the circular shape of Wyvern produces such little recoil that it can be withstood by its teeth, creating a Layer with high Burst resistance. However, like other pre-Xcalibur Layers, the teeth of Wyvern wear out fairly quickly and thus multiple copies must be purchased in order to replace ones that have worn down.

Overall

Wyvern was once one of the best Energy Layers for Stamina/Defense Combinations, but with the release of SwitchStrike/God Layer System, Wyvern has become too light to remain competitive.

As such, Wyvern is recommended for collection purposes only.

Differences in the Hasbro Version

Hasbro's Wyvron features very weak slopes making it extremely prone to Bursting even with its design. The Flywheel Effect is also severely reduced making it outclassed by Layers such as Yegdrion and Kerbeus, Stamina wise.

As such, Wyvron is also recommended for collection purposes only.
