Destroyer Attack or Perseus Attack Ver. (ペルセウスアタックバージョン, Peruseusu Atakku Bājon) is an Energy Ring released by Takara Tomy. It debuted in Japan with the release of the BB-97 Beyblade Ultimate Custom Set Perseus Ver. set on November 20, 2010 and in western countries with the release of the BB-97A Ultimate Gravity Destroyer Attack 130F Starter Pack in December 2011.
Description
Destroyer is a Dual Spin Energy Ring designed to work in tandem with the Gravity Fusion Wheel. Destroyer features a mode change gimmick; when the Destroyer Energy Ring is rotated 180 degrees, it can switch between "Counter Mode" and "Defense Mode". Depending on the mode, the "eyes" of the Gravity Fusion Wheel will be covered by the Energy Ring.
The "Attack" version of Destroyer replaces the standard Defense variant's balanced mix of three large and three small protrusions with two sets of three small protrusions that leave Gravity extremely exposed in both Counter and Defense Mode.
Overall
Destroyer Attack is highly aggressive and very well suited to bringing out Gravity's Attack potential. The reduced amount of material in the Energy Ring compared to the standard Defense version further limits its effectiveness outside of pure Attack customizations, but Destroyer Attack is undeniably effective in its titular role.
As such, Destroyer Attack is a must have for competitive bladers.
