Kreis Cygnus 145WD (クライスシグナス 145WD, Kuraisu Shigunasu 145WD) is a Defense Type Beyblade appearing in the Beyblade: Metal Fury anime series. It was released by Takara Tomy as a Starter on January 15th, 2012 at the World Hobby Fair 2012 in Osaka, Japan. Its regular retail release in Japan was on January 21st, 2012. It was later released by Hasbro in western countries as a Starter Pack with the first wave of the Hyperblades toyline.
It is owned by Cycnus in the anime.
Face Bolt - Cygnus

The Face Bolt depicts Cygnus, one of the 88 constellations in space. Cygnus is the Latinized Greek word for swan. The design depicts the helmeted head of a soldier, and also forms a swan's head when viewed from the reverse angle.
Energy Ring - Cygnus

Two swans form the design of this 4D Clear Wheel. Like other 4D Clear Wheels, Takara Tomy's release of Cygnus contains iron powder, which was advertised to increase its weight. At a weight of 3.3 grams, it is one of the heaviest Energy Rings available, and its round design makes it useful in Stamina and Defense combinations.

Metal Frame

Kreis' Metal Frame is primarily four-sided and is circular. On it's four sides, are two protrusions that are opposite of each other. Two protrusions, protrude upwards and feature the heads of a swan. Whilst the remaining two protrusions are more slanted, like a wall but with a small gap cutting in between them. On it's inside, are various linear designs somewhat of a swan. Also when Kreis' Metal Frame is flipped, Kreis' protrusions are more of a wall but also appearing thin; and on it's inside, are now wave and bubble-like designs replacing it's linear details.
Core

Kreis' Core like it's Metal Frame, has a four-sided design. With each side being curved and having a gap between them. It also features various square-like indents but other than that, it is just a basic Core used to hold Kreis' Metal Frame into place.
Kreis features two Modes, "Attack Mode" and "Defense Mode", and they can be alternated simply by flipping Kreis' Metal Frame onto Kreis' Core. In Attack Mode, Kreis resemble a wall, lining around the Bey, with many ridges and lines throughout, with resemblance to Twisted per se; this causes Kreis as a whole to be fixed. In Defense Mode, Kreis retains it's circular shape with it's various swan designs and curved bumps, allowing it to slide 60 Degrees left and right.
Kreis appears to be a moderate Defense-Type Wheel, much like Jade but it has higher Defense than the aforementioned fusion wheel, making Kreis a superior to Jade. It has some recoil in Defense Mode due to its sliding gimmick, making it a moderate Defense-Type Wheel. Luckily its recoil is lower than Diablo (In Ultimate Balance Mode) so it can be a better choice for Defense than Diablo in Ultimate Balance Mode.
Despite its moderate recoil, it appears to have good attack power in Defense Mode. This causes Kreis to be better classed at Attack than at Defense. In Attack Mode, its attack power is increased due to the ridges and lines. As a result, Kreis Cygnus can beat Diablo Nemesis in either Attack or Defense Mode, compared to L-Drago Destroy F:S. Despite its moderate Defense, it can be improved using the weight of Cygnus' Energy Ring.
Kreis was originally thought to be able to spin-freely completely, but this was proven to be false as Kreis is only able to partially free-spin, only able to slide around left and right when in Defense Mode. Note that Kreis weighs almost the same as L-Drago Destroy, just a bit heavier. This may be the reason for Kreis' high attack power. Because of the moderate defense and high attack power, it can beat many beys like Phantom Orion B:D and etc., depending on the stamina and attack.
Spin Track - 145

145, along with its variants (Claw 145 (C145), Down Force 145 (DF145), etc.), was once the highest Spin Track available, until the 230 Spin Track was released with Flame Byxis 230WD. 145 can be used in Stamina Type combinations to great effect due to its tall height, which allows for more wobbling as the Beyblade loses its spin velocity. However, gimmick-paired Spin Tracks such as Boost Disk 145 (BD145) have immensely outclassed their original basic variant, as have several taller gimmick Spin Tracks, especially against heavy, mid-height Attack customisations. Even in stamina battles, 145 does not offer enough balance: Spin Tracks such as Armor Defense 145 (AD145) and Wide Defense 145 (WD145) provide a good center of gravity, and aid with a slight downforce to maintain stability.
Performance Tip - Wide Defense

Wide Defense (WD) retains the two curved holes D contained but are now thinner, smaller and found on the Sharp tip.
Being wider brings advantages and disadvantages to WD. An advantage is being able to conserve better Stamina than D and SD, due to the more surface area as well as being able to spin at a lower spin-rate that that of D or SD which cannot. A disadvantage however, is that it is worse at regaining balance than D. The wide shape gives WD a harder time to regain its balance whereas, D does it much easier. This should take into consideration when using a Spin Track such as 230 or TH170. D would be a better choice than WD as it would regain balance much easier to help cope with 230. However, while D can regain balance better, it cannot maintain it as well as WD, especially with the heights of 170 and above.
At release, WD has found quick use as a Stamina-Type Tip, much better than D and has become top-tier. Despite this however, as many more Performance Tips like AS, EWD, and B:D were released; they have overshadowed WD. EWD has also overshadowed WD due to EWD's bearing to regain balance better and much better Stamina. W²D performs basically the same as WD though but with worse balance but better attack.
Wide Defense (WD) has significant defensive capabilities as well, but because it still uses a form of sharp tip, its friction with the stadium floor is decreased, which as a result makes it easier to knock around than a Tip like WB which has much more friction with the stadium floor. But since it can recover quickly, it does not matter.
Some Bladers experience a fast movement from Wide Defense, allowing the Wide Defense tip with fast movement to be paired with high-recoil fusion wheels such as Vulcan, Beat, Fang, Spiral, Flash, or Variares, to create powerful, or even a 1-Hit KO Attack-type combos, or be paired with low-recoil fusion wheels such as Bakushin, Duo, Gravity (Perseus Stamina), Fusion, Wing, Death to create counter-attacking Defense-Type combos.

- The Cygnus constellation was mentioned as part of the Metal Fury episode, The Guardian of the Temple, Dynamis, in order to open the Mist Mountain Temple doors. This could be inspired by the Greek epic poem Cypria, where Zeus transformed into a swan to defile the goddess of retribution, Nemesis. Nemesis ends up as the mother of Helen of Troy instead of mortal queen Leda. Interestingly enough, Cycnus, the owner of Kreis Cygnus, is opposed to Zeus by being a Nemesis Blader.

- In mythology, stories were told of people with the name of Cycnus or Cygnus.
- Kreis is German, meaning circle. Takara Tomy maybe called it Kreis because of its round, circle-like shape.
- Kreis Cygnus is the fourth Bey with the 145WD combo, the others being Earth Eagle 145WD, Dark Poseidon 145WD, and Twisted Tempo 145WD.
- Kreis Cygnus 145WD is the second Metal Fury Bey to be released at a World Hobby Fair, with the first being Variares D:D.
- Kreis Cygnus is also the first Starter Bey that did not receive official renders of its new parts; in this case: Cygnus and Kreis on Beyblade's official Japanese site by Takara Tomy.
