This article is about the Hasbro version. For the Takara Tomy version, see Chassis - 3A.

3A-D is a Forge Disc released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the SpeedStorm System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the SpeedStorm Starter Pack Raid Luinor L6 3A-D Destroyer-SPM.

Description

3A-D is a Forge Disc based on Takara Tomy’s 3A Chassis. As such, it is intended to match the shape of the Raid Ring. 3A-D is composed of a metal core and a plastic perimeter riveted to it, similar to Takara Tomy's Drake. The design is very jagged and spiky, having four main plastic contact points, two of which point downward. The shape of the metal synergizes with the Longinus/Luinor series of Layers.

Despite its aggressive shape, 3A-D suffers from an extremely light weight that is similar to Discs released during the Dual Layer System. In addition, 3A-D does not protrude enough on most Layers to provide use of its contact points. Unlike the 3A Chassis it is based on, 3A-D does not effectively provide Raid or any other Layer with additional Attack power. Due to its lack of compatibility with Disc Frames, it is also unable to improve its weight and weight distribution.

Use in Attack Combinations

3A-D has a small amount of synergy with the Lost Longinus/Luinor L2 Layers as its contact points are exposed while beneath the Layer. 3A-D can be used in the Attack Combination Lost Longinus/Luinor L2 3A-D Xtreme/Hunter-S. However this Combination is severely outclassed in the current metagame, even in the WBO's Burst Limited Format.

Overall

3A-D is rather light and ineffectual in Attack Combinations, where it finds the most use in. In addition, 3A-D is outclassed by other previously released Discs (even within a Hasbro Format), especially Discs that are compatible with Frames.

As such, 3A-D is recommended for collection purposes only.
