This article is about Blitz. For Hasbro's HyperSphere Core Disc, see Forge Disc - Blitz (Hasbro).

Blitz (ブリッツ, Burittsu) is a Forge Disc released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-134 Booster, Slash Valkyrie Blitz Power Retsu, on March 16th, 2019. It later debuted in western countries as Blitz-P with the release of Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Cho-Z Valtryek Blitz-P Jolt.

Description

An Attack Type Disc that attacks the opponent with a powerful blow, with three blades popping out when the rotational force is high.
— Official Description

Blitz is a three-sided Forge Disc with a plastic piece riveted to the bottom that has three protruding flaps. These flaps are meant to rise upwards during high spin velocity, theoretically creating better weight distribution for Attack Combinations at high speeds. In practice, this gimmick has a negligible effect. Blitz is a well-rounded Forge Disc overall, with uses in Attack, Defense, and Stamina Combinations. However, due to its shape, it is best suited for Attack Combinations due to its three-sided weight distribution. Among Gatinko Layer System Discs, Blitz is one of the heaviest, and does not have the scrape risk that other Forge Discs such as Convert have.

Overall

Blitz is a heavy Forge Disc in the context of the Gatinko Layer System, and works well in any Combination. Its use in Attack Combinations in particular made it a must-have Forge Disc when it was released. However, Blitz is too light to compete against newer Forge Discs in the current metagame.

As such, Blitz is recommended for collection purposes only.

Blitz is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited Format.
