This article is about Drake. For Hasbro's HyperSphere Core Disc, see Forge Disc - Drake (Hasbro).

Drake (ドレイク, Doreiku) is a Forge Disc released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-144 Booster, Zwei Longinus Drake Spiral' Metsu, on June 22nd, 2019. It later debuted in western countries as Drake-P with the release of Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Ace Dragon Drake-P Reboot Zan.

Description

An Attack Type Disc that gives a powerful blow to an opponent with its dragon-shaped blade, in which its center of gravity is biased on each side.
— Official Description

Drake consists of two parts, a plastic part riveted to a metal part. This produces a four-sided shape, with two sides that are engraved with dragon heads, being bigger than the others. Drake is intended to interact with the Zwei Base, as after clicks, the metal dragon heads of Drake line up with those of Zwei. However, this does not provide much benefit to combinations using the Zwei Layer Base, as any such combo would rather use the heavier Sting or Blitz. Furthermore, Drake has a scraping risk, as the plastic on it hangs downwards. It also does not provide an ideal weight distribution for any other Layer to use it effectively.

Overall

Drake, while meant to synergize with Zwei in theory, is not the preferred Disc for it, and it is a rather poor choice for other Layers compared to Sting, Blitz, or even Convert, making it outclassed by other Discs from the same time period. Furthermore, the weight and OWD of current Discs far outclass Drake.

Therefore, Drake is recommended for collection purposes only.
