Hurricane is a Forge Disc released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the HyperSphere System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the Vertical Drop Battle Set.
Description
Hasbro's Hurricane Forge Disc is based on Takara Tomy's Forge Disc of the same name. As such, its shape resembles the design of its Takara Tomy counterpart. However, instead of consisting of a metal core and plastic piece, Hasbro's Hurricane is a single metal piece, with a perimeter mimicking the saw blade design of the plastic piece. Compared to its Takara Tomy counterpart, the number of protrusions has been reduced from 16 to 12. Furthermore, like all HyperSphere Forge Discs, Hasbro's Hurricane is able to use a Disc Frame, like the Core Discs. The underside of the Forge Disc has been hollowed out, reducing its weight to the standard 20 grams of HyperSphere Forge Discs.
Overall
The low weight and lackluster shape of Hasbro's Hurricane makes it a poor choice in any Combination. It is a purely weaker version of its Takara Tomy counterpart, which was already outclassed. In the current metagame, Hurricane is too light to be competitive.
As such, Hasbro's Hurricane is recommended for collection purposes only.
Like all HyperSphere System Forge Discs, Hasbro's Hurricane is too light to be used over Core Discs in this format. It is further hampered by its ineffective shape.
