S Gear-Q is a Forge Disc released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the QuadDrive System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the Destruction Belfyre B7 and Decay Perseus P7 Dual Pack.
Description
Hasbro's S Gear-Q is a QD Disc based on Takara Tomy's Nexus DB Disc and S Gear Evolution Gear. As such, S Gear-Q's general shape resembles a shrunken Nexus with the S Gear attached. The general shape is identical to Hasbro's Nexus-Q QD Disc, but the perimeter has been modified to resemble the S Gear. The modified perimeter removes the compatibility with Takara Tomy's S Gear and D Gear Evolution Gears, albeit increasing the weight by a third of a gram. While its shape implies synergy with Attack Combinations, S Gear-Q is outclassed by the regular Nexus-Q QD Disc with the S Gear attached. Furthermore, S Gear-Q is underweight compared to other QD Discs, and its jagged perimeter creates low Life-After-Death (LAD).
Overall
Due to its light weight compared to other QD and QS Discs, S Gear-Q is outclassed for competitive use.
As such, S Gear-Q is recommended for collection purposes only.
