This article is about Sting. For Hasbro's HyperSphere Core Disc, see Forge Disc - Sting (Hasbro).

Sting (スティング, Sutingu) is a Forge Disc released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-133 DX Starter, Ace Dragon Sting Charge Zan, on March 16th, 2019. It later debuted as Sting-P with the release of Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Orb Engaard Sting-P Quest.

Description

An Attack Type Disc with four large blades that move with a spring and give a strong attack to the opponent with repulsion.
— Official Description

Sting is a round four-sided Forge Disc, with a spring-loaded outer plastic piece, allowing the plastic piece to move independently of the Forge Disc when hit. Sting is a versatile Forge Disc, and can be used for Attack, Defense, and Stamina Combinations. The bound gimmick does not come into play much, but the heavy weight and Outward Weight Distribution (OWD) makes it useful for any type of combination.

Overall

Due to its round shape, Sting's high Outward Weight Distribution makes it useful in any Combination. At the time of its release, Takara Tomy's Sting was rather heavy and widely used. However, it is too light to remain competitive in the current metagame, as it has subsequently been outclassed by DB Discs in the Dynamite Battle Layer System.

As such, Sting is recommended for collection purposes only.

Sting is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited Format.
