- This article is about the Hasbro release. For the Takara Tomy release, see Fusion Wheel - L-Drago Guardian.
L-Drago Guardian is a Fusion Wheel released by Hasbro. It debuted in western countries with the release of the B-159 L-Drago Guardian D125B Starter Pack in December 2012.
This Hasbro version opts to simplify the terminology (as the terms "Metal Frame" and "Core" do not have equivalents), calling the Metal Frame the Guardian Energy Ring and the Core the L-Drago IV Fusion Wheel.
Description
Hasbro's L-Drago Guardian is a Hybrid Wheel System variant of Takara Tomy's original 4D System release of the L-Drago Guardian 4D Metal Wheel. L-Drago Guardian is comprised of two parts: the Metal Frame and the Core. Compared to the 4D System version, this Hybrid Wheel System variant has a hollowed out Metal Frame, decreasing the weight by 10 grams. This leads to a much more light weight Fusion Wheel, making L-Drago Guardian one of the lightest Fusion Wheels in the Beyblade: Metal Fury toyline. Hasbro's L-Drago Guardian was released in the Spark FX toyline, and thus the Metal Frame features a blue and orange paintjob compared to the original unpainted Takara Tomy one. The Core contains rubber similar to that of Meteo L-Drago LW105LF, which allows for spin absorption.
Metal Frame
- Weight: 31.7 grams
L-Drago Guardian's Metal Frame resembles L-Drago Destructor's Metal Frame, as it features three dragon heads going in a circular motion. The Metal Frame can also be rotated 180 degrees like previous L-Drago Energy Rings, in order to change between two modes, "Attack Mode" and "Absorb Mode". As with the name, the armor-like design is more flat and has sharper edges. This Hasbro release has hollowed out the Metal Frame, reducing its weight by over 8 grams.
Core
- Weight: 5.1 grams
The Core is identical to the one found with L-Drago Destructor. The Core has six protrusions going around in a circular manner. Being highly made of rubber, it is used to absorb hits and obtain more Stamina, as well as providing extra weight. Hasbro refers to this Core as the "L-Drago IV" Fusion Wheel, despite being identical to the "L-Drago III" Fusion Wheel found with L-Drago Destructor.
