Twisted or Basalt (バサルト, Basaruto) is a Fusion Wheel released by Takara Tomy. It debuted in Japan with the release of the BB-104 Starter Basalt Horogium 145WD on February 26, 2011, and in Western countries with the release of the BB-104 Starter Pack Twisted Tempo 145WD in November 2011.
Description
Twisted is a thick, completely circular Fusion Wheel, with sets of indents and ridges distributed around its circumference. Twisted is almost cylindrical in its thickness, part of which overhangs the Spin Track.
Twisted is a member of the Maximum Series, with its gimmick being "maximum weight". At the time of its release, it was the heaviest Fusion Wheel available. With the release of Diablo it is no longer the heaviest Fusion Wheel, but Twisted's circular design, in combination with its abnormally heavy weight, make it one of the best Fusion Wheels for Defense Type customizations.
However, Twisted is missing a chunk of metal inside its perimeter which forms what is called the "Spiral Staircase of Death". The "Spiral Staircase of Death" was meant to neuter Twisted's incredibly high power by creating an imbalance within the Fusion Wheel. While this imbalance does indeed occur, it is not a notable hindrance to its usefulness. In fact, despite the imbalance caused by the "Spiral Staircase of Death", Twisted also has strong stamina, although it has since been outclassed by 4D Metal Wheels such as Scythe and Phantom.

Trivia
- Its Japanese name "Basalt" may come from the design resembling jointed basalt.
