Achilles A5 is a GT Chip released by Hasbro as part of the Burst System as well as the HyperSphere System. It debuted in western countries with the release of the HyperSphere Starter Pack, Union Achilles A5 Convert Xtender-H.
Description
Hasbro's Achilles A5 is a right-spin GT Chip that features an armored face and a shield, representing the GT Chip's namesake: the Greek mythological hero, Achilles. In the center of the GT Chip is a silver hexagon that is intended to resemble the center of the Retsu Weight. Achilles A5 has an above average weight for GT Chips, and high Burst Resistance.
Overall
HyperSphere Layers and other Hasbro Layers are heavily outclassed in this format by Takara Tomy's Dynamite Battle Layers.
As such, Achilles A5 is not recommended for the Burst Format.
In the Burst GT Format, HyperSphere Layers are strictly inferior to their Takara Tomy/Pro Series counterparts, which are heavier due to the usage of Weights.
As such, Achilles A5 is not recommended for the Burst GT Format.
Due to the high Burst Resistance of Achilles A5, it can be used with competitive right-spin Bases such as Eclipse, Monster, and Union.
As such, Achilles A5 is a must-have for the Burst Limited Format.
Achilles A5 is not legal in the Burst Classic Format.
