This article is about the first Diabolos Gatinko Chip. For the second Diabolos Gatinko Chip, see Gatinko Chip - Diabolos 2. For the Hasbro version, see GT Chip - Devolos D5.

Diabolos (ディアボロス, Diaborosu) is a Gatinko Chip released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-145 DX Starter, Venom Diabolos Vanguard Bullet, on July 6th, 2019. It later debuted in western countries as Devolos with the release of Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Venom Devolos Outer Variable'.

Description

The motif is of the devil dragon, Diabolos. A Gatinko Chip with an integrated Weight that produces high Attack power and can be used with either a left or right-spin Base.
— Official Description

Diabolos is a dual-spin Gatinko Chip that features a dragon head and claws representing the Gatinko Chip's namesake, a demonic dragon. Unlike other Gatinko Chips, Diabolos has an integrated Layer Weight, with a weight exceeding all Gatinko Chip and Layer Weight combinations. While versatile in both right-spin and left-spin, Diabolos is outclassed in terms of Burst Resistance and weight distribution by other Gatinko Chips such as Achilles and Longinus. However, Diabolos can be used as a second or third option for if weight is a priority and the Goku Layer Weight is unavailable.

Hasbro's Pro Series Devolos is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Diabolos, but manufactured with weaker materials.

Overall

Due to its heavy weight and dual-spin versatility, Diabolos is a must-have Gatinko Chip. However, Gatinko Layer System Energy Layers are too light to be competitive in the current metagame.

As such, Diabolos is recommended for collection purposes only.

Diabolos is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited Format.
