This article is about the Takara Tomy and Pro Series version. For Hasbro's HyperSphere Chip, see GT Chip - Luinor L5.

Longinus (ロンギヌス, Ronginusu) is a Gatinko Chip released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-144 Booster, Zwei Longinus Drake Spiral' Metsu, on June 22nd, 2019. It later debuted in western countries as Luinor, stylized as Lúinor, with the release of Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack, Zwei Lúinor Blitz-P Xtend+ Metsu.

Description

The motif is of the spear of ruin, Longinus. A left-spin Gatinko Chip with two large and hard locks.
— Official Description

Longinus is a left-spin Gatinko Chip that features two dragon heads representing the Gatinko Chip's namesake. Longinus has a standard weight for Gatinko Chips, and high Burst Resistance. Its high Burst Resistance is due to its two hard locks, akin to Valkyrie. This gives Longinus high Burst Resistance, even when a Dash Driver is not used. Its symmetrical shape also gives it good balance, and making it one of the best options for left-spin Layer Bases. When paired with the Goku Layer Weight, it can even rival Diabolos 1 in terms of sheer weight, and additionally has much better balance, making it an ideal choice for left-spin Layer Bases.

Hasbro's Pro Series Lúinor is virtually unchanged from Takara Tomy's Longinus. but manufactured with weaker materials.

Overall

Due to its well-balanced design and high Burst Resistance, Longinus is one of the best left-spin Gatinko Chips. Although a must-have among Gatinko Layer System parts, Gatinko Layer System Energy Layers are too light to be competitive in the current metagame.

As such, Longinus is recommended for collection purposes only.

Due to its high Burst Resistance, Longinus is a must-have if a Blader plans to use the Erase Layer Base in the WBO's Burst Limited Format. However, as Erase is not particularly competitive, there is no immediate need to obtain this part.

As such, Longinus is recommended for collection purposes only.

Longinus is not legal in the WBO's Burst Classic Format.

As such, Longinus is recommended for collection purposes only.
