Energy Layer - Guardian Kerbeus

A right-spin Defense Type God Layer that disperses the opponent's attack with a fine middle blade made of an elastic material and withstands any impact.
— Official Description

Takara Tomy's Guardian Kerbeus is a Defense Type Energy Layer that features three dog heads along the perimeter, two from a downward profile and one from a side profile, meant to represent the Layer's namesake, the mythological three headed hound Cerberus. As part of the God Layer System, Guardian Kerbeus features a gimmick; the chains connecting each head are made of a softer plastic, allowing them to push in to create "Bound Defense", akin to Jerk.

In theory the chains would cushion impact with the opponent and bolster Knock-Out and Burst Resistance. In practice however, because the chains have hardly any flexibility at all, the gimmick fails to function as the impact is the same as if the chains were made of normal plastic. This, combined with its weak teeth, makes Guardian Kerbeus incredibly prone to Bursts.

Despite the high Burst risk, Guardian Kerbeus excels in Stamina Combinations, capable of defeating other top-tier Stamina and Defense Energy Layers such as Drain Fafnir and Maximum Garuda in direct battles.

Forge Disc - Heavy

Main article: Forge Disc - Heavy

Heavy is a primarily circular Forge Disc, sporting a ring-like shape with numerous ridges on its interior that is interrupted by four rectangular protrusions designed to look like armored plates. As its name suggests, Heavy was the heaviest Forge Disc in the Burst System for a considerable period of time, until Gravity, which also weighs 21.6 grams, and Quarter, which weighs 21.8 grams were released. Despite this, Heavy is still one of the heaviest Forge Discs in the game, making it a popular choice for many Bladers. As its weight is a welcome asset to nearly any Beyblade, it enjoys a wide variety of uses on Combinations of all types. Heavy's high weight and compact shape gives it a Centralized Weight Distribution (CWD), making it particularly useful for Burst Attack as it will maximize the RPM of the Beyblade. This same weight distribution also makes it considerably more difficult to Burst than Gravity, the other disc in its weight class, at the cost of a significant amount of Stamina. Because of this, it is a better option for a Knock-Out Defense Combination than Gravity as Knock-Out Defense Combinations rely on high friction and weight to remain in the stadium, at the same time increasing their vulnerability to Bursting. However, due to its weight, Heavy is still more prone to Bursting than most lighter competitive Forge Discs such as Spread, Knuckle, and Armed.

Performance Tip - Revolve

Main article: Performance Tip - Revolve

Revolve features a sharp tip of a small diameter surrounded by a free spinning ring. The sharp tip of Revolve provides low friction with the stadium floor, resulting in high Stamina and Burst Defense properties. While the small diameter of the sharp tip may imply easy Destabilization, the wide diameter of the free spinning ring helps maintain Stability. The wide diameter of the ring also provides Revolve high Precession time which is useful against Opposite-Spin and Mobile Stamina Combinations. Furthermore, when launched at an angle, the free spinning ring of Revolve makes more contact with the stadium floor resulting in decent Knock-Out Resistance, however said Knock-Out Resistance still lags behind that of Orbit and Atomic due to the lower surface area and some Beyblades that are off center are easier to Burst.

Hasbro later reprinted Takara Tomy's B-36 release in the Pro Series Heaven Pegasus 10Proof Low Sen Starter Pack, albeit with weaker plastic.

Trivia

  • Like its predecessor Kaiser Kerbeus Limited Press, Guardian Kerbeus is based off of Cerberus, the monstrous three-headed guard dog of the Underworld in Greek mythology.
