Hikaru Hasama (波佐間ヒカル, Hasama Hikaru) is a recurring character that appears in the Metal Saga, making her debut in Beyblade: Metal Fusion as a member of the main cast. She is a serious, calm and helpful Blader who fights with her Beyblade, Wind Aquario 100HF/S. Beginning in Beyblade: Metal Masters she becomes Ryo Hagane's assistant at the WBBA.

Hikaru has sky-blue hair styled in a messy bob. Her eyes are indigo. She wears a red jacket over a white chest plate and dark blue t-shirt which is slighty torn at the bottom, tan shorts, brown boots and a black choker. Her fingerless gloves are white and go up to her wrists. Her belt appears to criss-cross over her shorts, and she keeps her Beyblade on her right hip.

After her defeat by Ryuga, she becomes Ryo Hagane's assistant and wears a dark blue suit, consisting of a white shirt with yellow buttons running down her chest. Over the shirt she wears a dark blue jacket with white sleeve hems. Matching to the jacket she wears a dark blue skirt. She also wears black high heels. On her left wrist she wears a red ribbon.

Hikaru is introduced as a cold and indifferent Blader, due to her experiences as a child. When she was younger, she was beaten and ridiculed by other Bladers when she lost, causing her to cry. Her ill mother convinced Hikaru to persevere, and to carry on her legacy; Hikaru's mother had dreamed of becoming a strong Blader.

Taking these words to heart, Hikaru vows to find strong opponents and get better and better in order to fulfill her mother's wishes. She was an antagonist at first because Benkei Hanawa told her to defeat Gingka which she did to Kenta breaking his confidence. She is not lacking a sense of fun and friendship though - these aspects resurface as the plot goes on.

After her defeat at the hands of Ryuga, Hikaru seems to have been so deeply traumatized by the event that she is unable to continue Beybattling. This is evident in her reaction in episode 73 when she is nearly struck by Tsubasa's attack while his dark side takes over and when she sees Ryuga appear at the finals of Big Bang Bladers to battle Jack. While she is also shown to be able to fight a beybattle in necessity, Hikaru now prefers to work with the WBBA in order to ensure everyone can have fun Beyblading and nobody will have to make experiences like she did in her childhood.

She becomes a lot more gentle over time, but always retains her professional attitude, making her a valuable support to the forgetful and impulsive Ryo.

She first appears trying to enter Metal Bey City only to be held off by Benkei Hanawa and the Face Hunters. She beats them all with her Aqario much to the others shock. When Benkei meets her, he tells her about Gingka Hagane.

Special Moves

  • Infinite Assault: This move tricks the opponent into thinking there are many Wind Aquarios, and then attacks the opponent with the real one. A huge wave also smashes on the opponent. When used, it also changes the mode of HF/S to create the illusion of several Wind Aquarios.

Gingka was able to see through this move by using the sunlight's reflection to find the actual Wind Aquario.

Although Hikaru had a great start, surprising and defeating the face hunters and Kenta, she began to lose a lot and, to be honest, didn't get very far from the secondary characters with the generic beys. However, she still managed to earn 50,000 points and get into the Battle Bladers, where she lost to Ryuga and that was the end of her blader career.

  • Hikaru was the only female Blader that was able to enter Battle Bladers.
  • Hikaru appears in chapter 8 of the manga as a participant of Battle Bladers, but does not have any spoken lines until chapter 12. In chapter 12 she battles Tsubasa, who promptly defeats her and knocks her out of the tournament. Hikaru does not reappear in the manga continuity until a brief cameo in the Metal Fight Beyblade: Soul Burst one-shot.
  • Hikaru shares her given name with Hikaru Hizashi from the Burst series.
  • Hikaru's Japanese voice actress later voiced Valt Aoi in the Burst series.
  • She is the only Blader in Beyblade: Metal Fusion to use a Karabiner Grip.
  • She developed an anxiety disorder after her ordeal with Ryuga, evidenced by her decision to give up Beyblading and her distressed reaction upon seeing L-Drago again.
    • Although she has given up Beyblading on the whole, she does still use her Bey occasionally. In episode 46 of Metal Masters she uses Storm Aquario to hold off some of Hades Inc. security which allowed Gingka to board Hades City in time.
    • In the aforementioned episode 46 of Metal Masters, there is an animation error that shows her launching Aquario 105F instead of Wind Aquario 100HF/S.
