Energy Layer - Kerbeus K2
Main article: Energy Layer - Kerbeus K2
Kerbeus K2, like its predecessor Kerbeus, is a round and thin Energy Layer designed for Defense. As such, its design consists of a six-bladed top-layer made of clear plastic; that each have a large gap in between, and a round bottom-layer made of colored plastic that's molded into the shape of chains; with each "link" of the chain-like layer slightly protruding outwards. In the center of the Layer are three dogs heads with flames near each head, representing the Layer's original namesake; Kerberos, the three-headed guard dog of the Underworld featured in Greek mythology.
At first glance, the design of Kerbeus K2, while round, appears to imply high recoil. However in reality, due to how thin the Layer is, both the clear and colored plastic layers come into contact with the opponent's Layer at the same time and cover each other's gaps in the process, and as such, is capable of reducing recoil and potential subsequent Stamina loss. For the Takara Tomy release of Kaiser Kerbeus, its strong teeth made it excel in Defense Combinations when in certain conditions. However, while this may imply high Defense potential, there are two major weaknesses:
First, when the Kerbeus K2 Combination is knocked off balance, only the six-bladed top-layer will come into contact with the opponent. As such, due to the aforementioned large gaps in between each blade, this increases the risk of the Kerbeus K2 Combination Bursting. As such, it is critical to pair up Kerbeus K2 will a Performance Tip with great stability.
Finally, the weight distribution of the Layer ends up creating poor Stamina, making Kerbeus K2 Combinations liable to being Out Spun.
Forge Disc - Limited
Main article: Forge Disc - Limited
Limited features a diamond shaped design akin to Force. Due to this similar shape, Limited can function identically to Force, but the same factors prevent the Disc from being effective in tournament play. The first is the shape as there are few Layers that benefit from the weight distribution, the second is the small size and thus light weight of the Disc which limits the weight it does distribute.
Performance Tip - Press
Main article: Performance Tip - Press
Press features a ball-shaped tip, much like Defense, but differs by having four significantly wider tabs around its tip compared to Defense's. In theory, these tabs will force the Beyblade back into an upright position after being knocked off balance and act as brakes to prevent KOs by striking against the stadium floor at the cost of Stamina. While such an effect does occur, the wider tabs create greater Stamina drain than Defense's with little to no improvement on stability and KO resistance. The top portion of Press also has four wall protrusions with a spike in the center on the sides of the Performance Tip, but hold no real purpose other than a slight source of Stamina loss, since they can also scrape along the stadium floor and are too low to be struck by any Burst System Beyblade.
- Kerbeus' Japanese name, Kaiser Kerbeus, is based from "kaiser", the German word for "emperor", and Cerberus, the three-headed monstrous dog that guards the gates to the Underworld in Greek mythology.
- The Energy Layer is similar to the Dark Fusion Wheel from the Metal Saga, as both are composed of blades that end up making a circular shape. The difference is that the Dark fusion wheel has 12 blades that face counterclockwise and are closely packed together, whereas the Kerbeus K2 Energy Layer is composed of 6 blades that are faced clockwise and have large gaps in between each one(The Dark Fusion Wheel also lacks Kerbeus K2's bottom chain-shaped layer).
