Ring - King

- This article is about the Takara Tomy version. For the Hasbro version, see Ring - Kolossal.
King (キング, Kingu) is a Ring released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Superking Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-160 Booster King Helios Zone 1B on March 28th, 2020.
King is a left-spin Balance Type Ring that features five prominent blades that are raised at the back and five smaller blades in between that are slightly angled, creating a shape with moderate recoil. In theory the larger blades are meant to perform an Upper Attack and the smaller blades are supposed to parry attacks, but in practice they are not very effective at either.
As part of the Superking Layer System, King is compatible with any Left Spin or Dual Spin Superking Chip and Chassis. King is intended to be used with the 1B Chassis to facilitate its gimmick of changing between a five bladed mode for Attack and a ten bladed mode for Defense, depending on the orientation of the Ring in relation to the Chassis. In practice, these two modes have a negligible effect on the performance of the Combination, although the five bladed mode applies more Weight Distribution to the larger blades of King, which causes a miniscule increase in the Attack potential of the combination.
In addition, King has a thick underside that holds itself and the attached Superking Chip a bit higher than the Chassis, which exposes the teeth of the Chassis more, granting higher Burst Resistance. Despite the intent of the contact points and its high Burst Resistance, King has little use in competitive play, although it can be used in niche Attack and Spin-Equalization Combinations.
Use in Mobile Attack Combinations
King can be put to use in the Mobile Attack Combination King Helios/Fafnir/Longinus/Diabolos Xtreme/Xtreme'/Variable/Variable'/Hunter/Hunter'/Destroy/Destroy'/Jolt/Jolt'/Dimension/Dimension'/Quick/Quick'/Xceed/Xceed' 1B/2S, or if one prefers to use a Single Chassis and Disk, King Helios/Fafnir/Longinus/Diabolos Sting/Blitz/Vanguard/Around/Wheel Xtreme/Xtreme'/Variable/Variable'/Hunter/Hunter'/Destroy/Destroy'/Jolt/Jolt'/Dimension/Dimension'/Quick/Quick'/Xceed/Xceed' 1S/1D. As a side note, a Double Chassis grants a Combination extra Burst Resistance, so using the non-Dash variants Xtreme/Destroy/Jolt/Dimension/Xceed is still possible, although not optimal. On the other hand, if a Single Chassis is used it will make a Combination generally easier to Burst, so using Xtreme/Destroy/Jolt/Dimension/Xceed over their respective Dash variants is not recommended.
Use in Spin-Equalization Combinations
King can be put to use in the Spin-Equalization Combination King Helios/Fafnir/Longinus/Diabolos Bearing/Xtend+/Rise 1B, or if one prefers to use a Single Chassis and Disk, King Helios/Fafnir/Longinus/Diabolos 0/00/Ratchet/Vanguard Wall Bearing/Rise 1S/1D or King Helios 0/00/Outer/Around/Wheel Xtend+. As a side note, 1B will increase the Burst Resistance of the Combination, but will also give it worse Life-After-Death (LAD).
Takara Tomy's King features a design intended for use in Attack and Defense Combinations, but its moderate recoil prevents it from excelling at either role aside from niche usage, especially when compared to other top tier left-spin Rings such as Rage.
As such, King is recommended for collection purposes only.

Performance Tip - Survive
Main article: Performance Tip - Survive
Survive is extremely similar to the Metal Fight Beyblade Performance Tip Defense (D), with a low-angled cone shape protruding from a cylinder. As a result, while it is overpowered by some Heavy Defense Combinations, it has still shown to be useful in Stamina-based Burst Combinations like Defense does for Metal Fight Beyblade Combinations.
However, it can also be used as a Defense Performance Tip in absence of better ones, and while it is outclassed, its shape helps it rebound from attacks and prevent Knock-Outs. While good ball-shaped or rubber sharp Performance Tips lack in Beyblade Burst, Survive has enough Stability to take hits without losing all balance and Precessing too early like sharper tips.
