Sou (双, ) is a Layer Weight released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Gatinko Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-151 Random Booster Vol. 17 on October 19th, 2019. It later debuted in western countries with the release of the Pro Series Starter Pack, Tact Lúinor 12Cross Trans' Sou.

Description

A Weight built into a Layer. A Weight that enhances the Balance performance of the Base with the weight concentrated in the center, and also enhances the Attack performance with the weight distributed in two places on the left and right.
— Official Description

Sou is shaped similarly to Metsu, but it only has two hexagons, one on each side. This makes it one of the lightest Layer Weights. Sou has very little use, given even Sen, Zan, and Retsu outclass it for usage as generic weights for different types. Sou does not offer anything that is better than any of the weights that are used more often. Sou is intended to provide a central weight distribution, however, this barely has any effect.

Overall

Compared to other Layer Weights, Sou is underweight, rendering it completely outclassed by even Sen, Zan, and Retsu. Furthermore, Gatinko Layer System Energy Layers are too light to be competitive in the current metagame.

As such, Sou is recommended for collection purposes only.

Sou is not legal in the WBO's Burst Limited Format.
