Left Apollos 12Meteor Sword (レフトアポロス・トウェルブメテオ・ソード, Refuto Aporosu Touerubu Meteo Sōdo), stylized as Left αpollos 12Meteor Sword, is an Attack Type Beyblade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Cho-Z Layer System. It was released in Japan on February 16th, 2019 for 993円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 14 Driger Fang.0.Xt.

Energy Layer - Left Apollos[]

Main article: Energy Layer - Left Apollos

Takara Tomy's Left Apollos is a Left-Spin Defense Type Energy Layer that features an overall round, spiked perimeter. The left side of the Layer features a face, meant to represent the Layer’s namesake; Apollo, the god of sun and light in Greek and Roman Mythology. As part of the Cho-Z Layer System, Left Apollos features metal in its design; in this case, lining the perimeter. The inclusion of metal makes it heavier than most God Layers. Left Apollos also features a gimmick; like its predecessor Duo Apollos and its counterpart Right Artemis, the Layer can be split in half to form either Right Aeclipse or Left Aeclipse.

The pointed design of the Layer makes Left Apollos ill-suited for Defense or Stamina Combinations and while the design may imply Attack potential, the gaps between the spikes are too small to create the necessary recoil to do so. Furthermore, Left Apollos' shape creates a high Burst risk, even when against Right-Spin opponents.

Due to the gimmick, Left Apollos is also incompatible with a Level Chip.

When combined with Right Artemis, the results are classified as different Layers. And so, any differences in performance will be listed on the Right Aeclipse and Left Aeclipse pages.

Forge Disc - 12[]

Main article: Forge Disc - 12

12, like other even numbered Core Discs, is symmetrical and elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Frame. Each side features three protrusions with the center protrusion in each set featuring molding in the shape of a "12" and four holes in the center, akin to 6. While the aggressive design of the Disc may imply high Burst potential from Disc-to-Layer contact, due to the fact that most Burst Performance Tips are of the same height, such contact is rare. Furthermore, 12's design is so aggressive that there have been numerous cases of the Disc severely damaging Layers that collide with it. Finally, 12 is the lightest Disc at the time of writing, lighter than even Armed which severely hinders Attack, Defense and Stamina potential. While the light weight would create high Burst Resistance, the heavy weight of the SwitchStrike/God Layer System and the Cho-Z Layer System makes the use of lightweight Discs for Burst Resistance obsolete.

Disc Frame - Meteor[]

Main article: Disc Frame - Meteor

Meteor is a pentagonal Disc Frame with numerous protrusions to give it a rough perimeter. While too small to come into contact with the opponent's Layer, Meteor is one of the thickest Disc Frames available, which grants high Attack potential when paired with Core Discs such as 7.

Performance Tip - Sword[]

Main article: Performance Tip - Sword

Sword features a wide, metal, six-pointed star tip, akin to a combination of Iron, Assault and Jaggy. Due to the shape and surface area, Sword will create a highly aggressive movement pattern with speeds comparable to Assault. However, the rough perimeter, low friction of the metal and wide diameter of the tip makes it difficult for Sword to maintain a banking pattern and creates relatively poor Stamina despite the metal construction, making Sword ill-suited for Tornado Stalling Combinations as well.

Furthermore, Sword features two sword-like protrusions on either side. Due to the height of the Burst System, no Combination can come into contact with the protrusions and they instead create a severe scrape risk, nullifying Life-After-Death potential. When paired with the Xcalibur line of Layers, the protrusions are meant to line up with the Layer's sword point to increase Attack potential. However, the protrusions are too small have any noticeable effect.

Finally, Sword is taller than most other Performance Tips which further reduces Attack potential as most Attack Type benefit from being at lower heights.
