Legend Spryzen S3 0Under Nothing, known as Legend Spriggan 0Under Nothing (レジェンドスプリガン・ゼロアンダー・ナッシング, Regendo Supurigan Zero Andā Nasshingu) in Japan, is a Stamina Type Beyblade released as part of the Burst System as well as the God Layer System. It was released in Japan on April 28th, 2018 for 993円 as one of eight possible Beyblades in Random Booster Vol. 10 Crash Ragnaruk.11R.Wd.
Energy Layer - Legend Spryzen S3
Main article: Energy Layer - Legend Spryzen S3
Legend Spryzen S3 is a Balance Type Energy Layer made from four large blades, two of which feature faces on them which are meant to represent the Layer's Japanese namesake; Spriggans, monsters of Cornish Faery Lore, and the center of the Layer features a large double bladed ax, meant to represent the weapon of the anime's rendition of this Layer's beast. As part of the SwitchStrike/God Layer System, Legend Spryzen S3 features gimmicks;
The Layer contains metal in the form of an irremovable God Chip.
The Layer itself is Dual-Spin, unlike every other Layer before it, with two sets of teeth on the Japanese release for Right-Spin Mode and Left-Spin Mode.
Due to the asymmetrical design of the Layer, Legend Spryzen S3's performance changes depending on the spin direction.
In Right-Spin Mode, the primary points of contact are the black blades which are sloped to facilitate Upper Attack. While the intended Upper Attack has some success, due to the thickness of the blades however, contact is more likely to be made on the tips of the blades, producing Spike Attack and subsequent high Burst Attack. However, due to how the black blades are shaped and how compact they are, Legend Spryzen S3 can only be used on high friction and high speed rubber Tips such as Xtreme or else the combination will Self-Burst.
In Left-Spin Mode, the primary points of contact are the flat faces of the clear blades which are meant to create Smash Attack. However, due to the nature of the Burst System, such a heavy recoil design creates a high Self-Burst risk instead. While Left-Spin Mode can work against other Left-Spin Layers such as Drain Fafnir, Right-Spin Mode has greater success overall.
Due to the high recoil design of the blades, Legend Spryzen S3 is ill-suited for Stationary Combinations, however, the heavy weight of the Layer, shape of the blades and the strong teeth of the Japanese release of Legend Spriggan make this Layer a Top-Tier choice in Attack Combinations.
Legend Spriggan has one weakness however. To facilitate the gimmick, two of the teeth on each set on the Japanese release are made to the thickness of those found on Single Layers, meaning that the first two teeth on each set will wear down fairly quickly. Due to this, it is recommended to have multiple copies of this Layer and to be prepared to replace it.
Forge Disc - 0
Main article: Forge Disc - 0
0 is a symmetrical Forge Disc that's elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. Each side features one protrusion, each wide and smooth enough to almost make the Forge Disc perfectly circular if not for the notches needed to add a Disc Frame and a molded "0" on each side. The protrusions extend further and are thicker than most other Forge Discs which makes 0 the heaviest Forge Disc at the time of writing and implies high Outward Weight Distribution and Stamina potential. In reality however, more weight is focused towards the center, which creates Centralized Weight Distribution that reduces its Stamina to that of 2's. As such, 0 is outclassed by 7 for Stamina Combinations but 0's greater weight makes it ideal for Attack and Defense Combinations. Furthermore, the round shape of 0 creates high Life After Death, even without the use of Disc Frames such as Cross. While the weight can increase the risk of Bursts, the weight of most SwitchStrike/God Layers and Cho-Z Layers can compensate.
Disc Frame - Under
Main article: Disc Frame - Under
Under features a diamond shape with clockwise protrusions on each corner, akin to Force or Cross, at a downward angle. This shape is meant to increase Burst Attack during Disc-to-Layer contact in Right-Spin Combinations. However, due to most Burst Performance Tips being of the same or very similar heights, such contact is rare and the direction of the protrusions reduces recoil when used on Left-Spin Combinations. While the round shape of the Frame may imply high Life After Death, the downward angle of the protrusions creates a perimeter too rough to aid in Life After Death in Defense and Stamina Combinations like Cross and Glaive. However, Under is one of the heavier Frames in the metagame, which grants high Attack potential when paired with Core Discs such as 0 or 7.
Performance Tip - Nothing
Main article: Performance Tip - Nothing
Nothing features a low angled, spring loaded cone shaped tip. In theory the tip is meant to prevent harsh impacts against the stadium floor from launch, preventing accidental Self-KOs from bouncing.
However, the gimmick means that the tip is unfixed and is capable of tilting somewhat which creates poor stability. This poor stability is further made dangerous by the molding of the cone which as a slightly raised lip around the center, akin to Metal Fight Beyblade's Eternal Wide Defense or Wave Wide Defense which when knocked off balance the lip creates a second point of contact, creating acceleration which reduces Stamina. As such, Nothing is outclassed in terms of Stamina by Revolve and Atomic.
