The Light Launcher is a Launcher released by Takara Tomy as part of the Beyblade Burst toyline. It was first released in Japan on July 18th, 2015 with the first 4 Starter products (B-01 to B-04). It was later released by Hasbro in western countries as part of the Pro Series toyline.

The "Long Winder" variant was first released in Japan on November 14th, 2015 as a part of the Beyblade Custom Set Defense & Stamina. The "Phoenix Winder" variant was exclusive to the release of the B-117 Starter, Revive Phoenix 10 Friction, on July 7th, 2018.

Description

The Light Launcher is a right-spin Ripcord Launcher released for the Beyblade Burst toyline, and the first Burst launcher overall. It uses a winder (ripcord) that is inserted into the launcher and then pulled out. It is compatible with accessories such as the Launcher Grip and the BeyLogger/BeyLogger PLUS. There are three different winders that can be used with the Light Launcher: the standard winder with 5 rotations, the "Long Winder" with 6 rotations, and the "Phoenix Winder" with 7 rotations. There is a running change to the mold: beginning with the release of the B-22 Beyblade Custom Set Defense & Stamina, the shape of the prongs have been slightly modified to better grip onto Layers.

All Takara Tomy Starters in the first year of the toyline (2015-2016) feature a white Light Launcher with a black Winder. The following year (2016-2017), Takara Tomy inverted the colors to a black Light Launcher with a white Winder. Standard Starter products subsequently replaced the Light Launcher with the Entry Launcher (2017-2018). Beginning with the Beyblade Burst Cho-Z toyline, Takara Tomy opted to release Starters with anime-accurate Light Launcher/BeyLauncher designs instead of the same launcher in every Starter release. The Light Launcher was also included in several sets.

Hasbro later released it as the Pro Series Launcher in their Pro Series toyline, specifically in Starter Packs and the Elite Champions Pro Set and Evo Elite Champions Pro Set.

Long Light Launcher

The B-22 Beyblade Custom Set Defense & Stamina and B-45 individual release include a "Long Winder", which features a longer winder with more teeth, increasing rotations from 5 to 6. The Light Launcher included with the B-117 Starter Revive Phoenix 10 Friction uses a "Phoenix Winder", which has 7 rotations.

While the releases with the 6 rotation "Long Winder" were originally marketed as simply "Light Launcher and Long Winder" (B-22/B-45), the B-138 individual release in the Beyblade Burst Rise toyline titled this combination the Long Light Launcher. However, the description defaults to "Light Launcher and Long Winder", reaffirming it as the same Launcher, regardless of the winder being used.

Overall

With the release of other Ripcord Launchers such as the Power Custom Sword Launcher LR and String Launchers such as the Full Custom BeyLauncher LR, the Light Launcher's rotation count of 5-7 has become heavily outclassed.
